Victory Road is looking to add to its mod team!


Offline responsibilities have been wearing our team of four (soon to be three) thin, so we're hoping for some fresh blood to join us!

Specifically, we are looking for:

A Head Mod: A Head Mod should be capable of supervising and advising others in their tasks, proactive about starting discussions, and willing to do a little bit of everything.

An Event Mod: The Event Mod should be able to collaborate with the Head Mods in order to plan, organize, and launch game-wide events for trainer, breeder, and Rocket characters alike. This involves a lot of writing! Creativity is required and experience running events in other games is desired!

Two List Mods: List mods, while they are free to participate in other modly activities and discussions if they choose, are primarily tasked with making sure the game’s many moving parts (badges, Activity Check, the calendar, FAQ questions, etc) are posted/processed in a timely manner. List mods should be consistent in staying on top of whichever of these tasks are assigned to them.

Head Mod

<b>What do you like?</b> What sort of things do you like about Route/VR? This could be anything from the playerbase, to the setting, to mechanical aspects of how VR itself is set up. What are the things that you personally would enjoy working on? <b>What do you not like?</b> What parts of the game do you think are in need of improvement? Elaborate as much or as little as you'd like. Remember, honesty is a must! <b>What do you think would make you a good leader?</b> We’re looking for fairness, adaptability, ability to handle criticism and disagreements, and knowing how to work in a team and compromise with another head mod. High diplomacy level? Good at delegating and knowing who on a team has what skills? Any experience with moderating or supervising people elsewhere? Say so here! <b>What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced and/or anticipate facing as a moderator in the past, and how would you address them?</b> Every mod is going to run into problems no matter what, whether it’s other mods being out of commission at a critical moment, particularly sticky disagreements between players, or disgruntled players creating a toxic environment. Addressing these situations is a Head Mod’s biggest responsibility, so tell us a little about how you’ve handled an unexpected hurdle in the past (or would, theoretically!)


Event Mod

<b>Give us an example event idea:</b> This doesn’t have to be fine-tuned but it should show that you are capable of thinking up ways to make sure everyone feels included and has a good time. <b>Mechanics:</b> What are the basics of how you’d set this event up? (For example, how many written mod posts would it require, would there be logs or not, if there are win conditions how would you measure them, etc? How much help would you anticipate needing to get everything up and running on time?) <b>Here are three potential surprise issues that you might run into! How would you handle them?</b> <dd><li> <b>Player confusion:</b> There’s a significant amount of confusion or misinterpretation about something that didn’t seem complicated to you when you first came up with it. Now what? <li><b>Mechanic didn’t work as planned:</b> Maybe people didn’t have enough to go on to work out a mystery, a mechanic was more time consuming than expected, or part of the setup was too limiting for people to really participate. How would you adapt? <li> <b>Player dissatisfaction:</b> Something about the event has made a number of players upset or unhappy. What might it be and how would you address this?
