We're getting closer to our upcoming Freaky Friday body switch event. Because this is a little more involved than most of our Freaky Fridays, we've set up a small FAQ to answer what we figure will be the most common questions! In addition to that, this post can be used as a plotting post for those who are interested in that.


So, without further ado, onto the questions!


So, what exactly will be happening on Friday?

This Friday, your character will wake up to find that things have gone a bit topsy-turvy while they slept. Rather than wake up in their own, normal body, they'll find themselves waking up inside of the body of one of their pokemon. And what's more, the mind of that pokemon will be in their body. Hopefully you didn't body switch with any of your more troublesome pokemon!

What if my character doesn't sleep?

If your character doesn't sleep, but you'd still like them to participate in the fun, they'll find themselves blacking out around, say, 3AM. When they come to again (which could be minutes later or come morning, whichever you prefer!) they'll be in the same sticky situation everybody else is.

What pokemon can my character switch with?

Good question! Your character can switch minds with one pokemon that belongs to them. If this pokemon was being stored in the PC at the moment of switching, they'll find that it will have mysteriously transferred into their party for another one of their pokemon.

It won't be possible to switch with a pokemon belonging to someone else or with a wild pokemon.

Can I switch minds with multiple pokemon?

Because this is just a one day event, we've decided to limit it to just one pokemon this time! So choose carefully.

What about communication? Can my character talk? Can my pokemon now talk?

Generally speaking, characters that are inside of pokemon will find themselves capable of speech, and the pokemon inside of their bodies, will also be able to speak. But, this is also completely up to you! If you think it's much funnier for your character to be able to drop nothing but 'bulbasauuuuur', have at it! If you think it would be hilarious for the pokemon of your character to still communicate exactly as it would normally do, go for it!

Can my character understand other pokemon while inside a pokemon body?

Yes. They will think you are very weird.

What if I'd rather not involve my character in this?

Feel free to opt out! All events in Victory Road are optional. Maybe Arceus took pity on your character, maybe it wandered away to get a drink for a moment and completely forgot about your character. We don't know or pretend to understand Arceus' ways.
