As a long time resident Min has built up a pretty powerful team, so even if he's decided against racing he feels like he can contribute to keeping the racers themselves safe. He's stayed away from using anyone he's still training, sticking to level 100 Pokémon who will do well against the strongest Pokémon in the area and have the skills to get participants who do get stuck out of trouble. His Pangoro and Sandslash, for example, can probably dig out anyone who gets stuck. Pangoro will also be strong enough to lift obstacles that have caused them to become stuck. His Marowak is partially fire type and has the means to provide both light and warmth. Given the fragility of some of the ice he feels that his Azumarill might come in handy to help out anyone who's underestimated the thickness or has had other trouble navigating the rivers.
And, of course, his Corviknight is there to help him get to the other trainers. She is fairly fast thanks to her Hasty Nature even if she still probably isn't exactly what the volunteer coordinators had in mind when they asked for speedy flyers.
His Pangoro and Plusle also have a lot of assistance moves such as Coaching or Helping Hand that can be used creatively to support their teammates when they aren't involved directly.
