In particular, after the race, Cali receives thanks from: Trainer Josh, with a team consisting of a Whirlipede and an absolute swarm of Venipede. You helped prevent all their little feetsies from getting frostbite!

The race officials will offer your character one of the special Swinub eggs in appreciation for their efforts. (If you would like your character to not receive an egg, you are free to say they turn it down!)

So what’s so special about this egg? Well: these eggs have all been donated by a local (mostly) retired Breeder!

When the egg hatches, this Swinub will be fast. Extremely fast. In video game terms, it has absolutely maxed out Speed IVs and then some. The Forbidden 32 Speed. In addition, it will hatch with the following moves: Fissure, Freeze-Dry, Icicle Crash, High Horsepower, Icicle Spear, Stealth Rock, Substitute, Stomping Tantrum, Sandstorm, Haze, Reversal, Rest, Sleep Talk, Trailblaze, and Endeavor.

Finally, there’s a chance for these eggs to hatch shiny! The random roll for Cali says… congrats, your Swinub is shiny on top of everything else!
