If a player didn't get an entry/any comments in before the deadline, then their character will not have completed the race or earned any rewards (even consolation prizes; unfortunately the race officials have run out).

However, if a character would have participated/if a player still wants to thread, it's fine to handwave that they didn't finish for some reason! Maybe there was a terrible sled accident with an NPC racer at some point, maybe their Pokemon just decided sled racing was for losers and refused to keep going... you are welcome to make up your own reason!
