Just like the player Rockets, no captured NPC Rockets will be able to give any information on the Big Stuff going down in the basement, nor will they have Key Cards; Rockets weren't told any of that or given access cards for exactly this reason. What Sion and Ryner would be able to discover via interrogation (and the Grunts will be stubborn) is:
That this was planned a long time in advance. That they don't actually know what the forcefield is made of. That whatever is in the basement is a top secret big deal. That everyone who knew how to get out of the forcefield is already long gone, everyone's stuck. There is only one bathroom in the base, on the second level. This is clearly very important information.
Keeping one or two Rockets to give to the police should help Sion and Ryner gain some gym leader cred as well!
