TRICK... OR TREE?
Guess what, trainers? Halloween is approaching, and that means things are gonna get spooky around here!
Things start out simply enough...throughout October, as people everywhere are bulk-buying Rare Candy and hanging up ghostly decorations, there seem to be a steadily increasing number of Phantump floating around all over Johto and Kanto. Day and night, they can be seen in towns and cities, and even out on the routes. And if you’re really unfortunate, you might even spot one or two out on the Sevii Islands. Why unfortunate, you ask?
Because these Phantump are preparing for something. They’re very shy if approached, and will not battle-- if any trainers attempt to catch them, they’ll disappear before a Pokeball can even be thrown. But they seem to be clustering, passing messages and secrets between themselves, having spooky little meetings...and when it gets dark, they get a little bolder. Any human out alone at night, even if only for a few minutes taking the trash out, might feel a sharp chill pass over them as they’re tapped somewhere on their body by a swiftly passing ghost.
And anybody who receives one of those taps? Has been marked, and will begin to have dreams at night.
Bad dreams.

October 5th-12th: Phantump begin to appear everywhere, mostly within towns and cities but also out on the routes and on the Sevii islands more rarely. At night, they will mark participating characters, who will begin to have nightmares each night from then on, although by morning they will be difficult to recall, if remembered at all. Characters may also notice Drowzee lurking around windows and campsites at night, which will also flee if spotted. October 13th-21st: The nightmares worsen, but strangely enough, many characters will seem to have the same or very similar nightmares as others. Characters will not be lucid or encounter each other during these dreams, but they do seem to be shared. October 22nd-29th: Somewhere in every city, town, and route, strange copses of forest seem to sprout overnight where there were none before. Strange...and ghostly. Characters who were marked by the Phantump earlier in the month will feel drawn in, the feeling growing stronger the longer they resist until they feel entirely compelled to enter. Once inside, they will become lost in the trees almost immediately, even if the wood didn’t seem so big from the outside, and will be unable to find their way out. Eventually, they’ll have to sleep, and whenever they do…then the real dream (and nightmare) walking begins. October 29th (evening): Event conclusion, characters will be freed from the woods and have a few days to get some rest before Halloween!

SO EXPLAIN WHAT MY CHARACTER WILL BE EXPERIENCING BEFORE THE WOODS SHOW UP?
The second stage of the nightmares, beginning on October 13th, is where characters will start having more intense nightmares across the board, and also having the same nightmares as others. Who the dreams are shared with is up to the players, but they can be shared between anyone from anywhere, and with as many people as you’d like! The contents of the dreams are also up to player choice. They will still feel like dreams to the characters, and characters will not run into each other or be any more lucid than normal, even if sharing. The drained feeling and missing pieces will still be the same when they wake up, but characters will remember more of the nightmares than they did before.
Example: Luffy is sharing a nightmare with Steven Universe. Luffy is dreaming that his pirate ship is sinking and there’s nothing he can do about it. Steven will also experience a stressful dream about a sinking pirate ship, but will not see Luffy. Instead, Steven's dream will cast himself in the role of the panicking pirate captain on the brink of losing his ship! To find out that they were sharing the same nightmare, they’ll have to talk to each other about it once they’re awake.
WHAT IF MY CHARACTER WANTS TO CHASE/CATCH/INTERROGATE A PHANTUMP OR DROWZEE?
OKAY OKAY, SO EXPLAIN THE FOREST! WHY IS IT HERE?
HOW MUCH OF IT IS AROUND?
WHAT DOES IT LOOK/FEEL LIKE FROM THE OUTSIDE?
WHAT ABOUT WHEN MY MARKED CHARACTER DOES GO IN? GIVE ME THE DETAILS!
The Phantumps and Drowzee are in here too, in numbers, and can be battled, although if they are close to defeat they will flee into the woods and get away easily. And occasionally, your character might catch a glimpse of an enormous, lumbering Trevenant or a bright yellow Hypno, although those two seem to melt away into the trees if approached at all.
At this point, your character may run into any other character awake and lost in the forest-- they all seem to be connected regardless of where they came in, so someone who decided to investigate the woods that sprung up all around Olivine’s Lighthouse could easily encounter an unlucky person who took a wrong turn up on Cerulean Cape!
Characters may also discover items, on the ground between tree roots or higher up in hollows, if they dare stick their hands in. These collected items will be the only event prizes!
SO WHAT ITEMS CAN BE FOUND?
REGULAR:
Tiny Mushroom - A small and rare mushroom. It is sought after by collectors. Revival Herb - A very bitter medicinal herb. It revives a fainted Pokémon, fully restoring its HP. Old Gateau - Old Chateau’s hidden specialty. It heals all the status problems of a single Pokémon. Dusk Ball - A somewhat different Poké Ball that makes it easier to catch wild Pokémon at night or in dark places like caves. Ghost Gem - Increases the power of a Ghost-type move only once. Dusk Stone - A peculiar stone that makes certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is as dark as dark can be. Fallen Twig - A small (any size that’s easily carried with one hand) twig, fallen from one of the trees. It gives off an unsettling aura, and placed underneath someone’s pillow will induce bad dreams. RARE:
Cleanse Tag - An item to be held by a Pokémon. It helps keep wild Pokémon away if the holder is the first one in the party. Rare Bone - A bone that is extremely valuable for Pokémon archeology. It can be sold for a high price to shops. Reaper Cloth - A cloth imbued with horrifyingly strong spiritual energy. It is loved by a certain Pokémon. Smoke Ball - An item to be held by a Pokémon. It enables the holder to flee from any wild Pokémon without fail. Spell Tag - Increases the power of Ghost-type moves. Sticky Barb - A held item that damages the holder on every turn. It may latch on to foes and allies that touch the holder.
CAN I BRING IN POKEMON?
The trees, while they can be damaged, seem to simply grow back as soon as they’re out of sight range. And no amount of burning, cutting, or teleporting will bring a trainer and their trusty team back to the edge of the forest.
The best thing that your Pokemon can provide is emotional support… which is nothing to be sneezed at. Y’all are probably gonna need it!
AND WHAT ABOUT WHEN THEY DO SHARE THOSE DREAMS?
Once asleep, your character will enter a dream (which should be at least a little nightmarish, although the severity is up to the player) of your design. It can be of whatever you want: something meaningfully tailored to the character, a dream-like memory, or even something that you’ve made up that sounds fun to play with! And, unlike before, your character will be lucid and aware (although if you’d like, they don’t have to start out that way), and other characters will be able to come into their dream and interact with them and it-- because just like the forest seems to somehow connect the entire Johto-Kanto continent, it’s also the ever-present bridge between everyone’s dreams.
Example: Luffy might be wandering through the trees and come upon his ship sinking once more, but this time into a patch of wooded swamp instead of the open ocean-- and this time when Steven shows up, he and Luffy can frantically bail out nasty pond water together instead of going it alone.Characters may wake up at any point and continue wandering the forest, although in the latter half of these days, the forest itself will start becoming more and more intertwined with the dream worlds of the characters, until nobody is really sure when they are or aren’t awake. They may even “wake up” multiple times, only to realize that they’re still dreaming. As the days go on, the Trevenant and Hypno will appear more and more frequently...until they seem to be almost always in the background of whatever’s going on, watching.
ARE THEY BEHIND ALL THIS?
CAN WE FIGHT THEM?
ARE THERE SIGN-UPS OR A WIN CONDITION?
WILL THERE BE A LOG FOR THIS?

CHINCHILL'S CHARACTERS
Ash's nightmares have several flavours for characters to experience. The first is the 'street' dream. Characters will be running through back alleys and winding small streets, trying to find shelter as the air gets thicker and thicker, obscuring their vision and causing them to panic. They'll also end up ducking out of sight of large, looming figures that walk by.
The second dream is the seal dream which is a bit upsetting/features an animal dying, as a heads up. Characters will dream that they see a seal, tied up in a net and flailing/barking in distress. They cannot reach the seal and will feel they they're being held back or are tied up in a net of their own. The seal is either dragged out of sight OR shot/stabbed and dies in front of the dreamer. Characters will feel extremely upset as they see it lying there but when they wake up, they'll probably just be confused.
Lastly there's the 'home' dream. It's just, waiting in a small apartment as night falls and it gets dark. Waiting. Waiting from someone to come home. But it gets later and later, and no-one's showing up. Dreamers will feel a looming sense of dread and fear until waking up.
Wolfeh's crew~
Noctis is going to be chased by a creature that attacked him when he was young and landed him in a coma for a short period of time. The Marilith is basically a giant naga daemon that will fuck your day up without any hesitation. Taking a cue from some pre-game stuff, Noctis is going to be very small in comparison to the beast and the places he's traversing through. So not only will he be tiny but he'll be fleeing from a massive daemon that seems to be around every single turn he makes.
Cissnei is going to be witnessing the death of someone that she considered her first real friend outside of the Turks over and over again. First go round she'll see Zack die as he did in Crisis Core--fired upon by a battalion while attempting to keep Cloud safe. From there, it'll just get worse and worse, bloodier each time and more painful in general for Cissnei to watch. Each time she's going to be right there but unable to stop it from happening. Basically, just like she was in game, she's going to be too late to save Zack.
Vanitas is going to be trapped in Ventus's Dive to the Heart, which is basically the inside of a person's heart/soul/being...etc because Kingdom Hearts. It's essentially an endless spiraling staircase with platforms connecting the stairs and he's going to be stuck chasing what he thinks is Ventus through the endless dive. Along the way he's going to be assaulted by Heartless--because why let him see his Unversed when he can be attacked by something he can't control?--and slowly disintegrating as he goes. (At the end of Dream Drop Distance, when they fail to forge the X-Blade, he fades away. I'm just taking it a step further.)
Link will be facing a really twisted nightmare version of home where Calamity Ganon corrupted Zelda and the four Champions, destroying Hyrule as Link knows it in the process. Link is going to be mortally wounded and attempted to get away by any means possible and also trying to get the Master Sword back but it's going to be constantly out of reach.
Newt is the only one that won't get getting a nightmare of his own because I really can't think of anything that would haunt him. (And we don't have a lot of canon context for his past so I don't want to get stuck making up too much.) As such, he's going to be ending up in other people's dreams! I already have plans for him to end up taking care of a smol Armin but I will happily toss him at anyone during this!

It is I, Nobi.
Ignis - There will be a few spoilers here. He's end game let's be real but I am gonna focus more on his fears of failing Noctis and the horror that the world is currently in. Noctis calling for help or being found dead. Daemons in the streets, Darkness. Particularly blindness related darkness. So forth.
Yuri - pulling from the fact that he's the only breadwinner for his family I think failure would be the worst. So dreams of losing, making mistakes and even injuries abound. Being rejected and abandoned by teammates and friends and seeing his family collapse into squalor and blaming Yuri for it all. Yay.

So, Sion is already terribly prone to nightmares, and bad ones at that! Expect to see all kinds of fun stuff from him, ranging from endless pain to war to the horrific results of human experimentation to the terrifying feeling of something is in your head trying to subsume your consciousness and oh boy is it powerful, to name a few. Not to mention his terribly depressing and occasionally traumatic past, of course.
SO if you wanna really traumatize your character and/or learn some of the less pleasant bits of Sion's past, now's your chance!
And now that I've had time to figure out just what, exactly, I want to do, some of the fun things you could encounter!
- Want to have the experience of watching everyone you know be brutally slaughtered while you're well-night helpless to do a thing about it? Sion's got ya covered.
- Or how about being in constant, endless pain as though every cell in your entire body were in agony? And there's seemingly nothing that can be done about it--even if you were to sleep (for some dream within a dream meta) it's somehow still there...
- Then there's the whole witnessing a loved one taking their own life. This can come in either straight-up witnessing Sion relive his mother's death, or filling in the details from your own character's perspective variety. Either way, it comes with bonus feelings of intense, slightly irrational guilt for failing to prevent it!
- Aaaand the big final scenario: the castle corridors are dim with the last fading light of day, but that isn't the most worrisome part. Rather, it's the fact that, as you wander them, there's definitely some kind of presence in your head, suggesting, influencing, maybe even trying to take over...... Can you overcome it? And what other nasty surprises might those dim halls have in store?
First event and Prompto gets to suffer
Prompto is going to be plagued with dreams of his friends abandoning him for various reasons. Sometimes it will be because of his true origins (don't wanna spell it out here because it's a spoiler of sorts), sometimes it will be because he's the weakest (physically) of them all and they'll say he's holding them back/slowing them down, and sometimes it will be because they just plain can't stand him anymore. In the dreams he'll try to catch up to them, but he's rarely able to and on the few instances he manages to reach them, they won't listen to him and tear into him about his insecurities.
(wrong account but I'm on this one atm)

Elaine's Kids
Jane will be having a core nightmare scenario that deals with crushes and heartbreak, but it will mostly be surrounded with the at times bizarre, at times haunting, at times really fucking trippy and traumatic experiences that come along with Homestuck. So yeah, try to confess your love while white rapping clown men get up in your grill to spit rhymes about dead bodies and magnets, try to find your crush in an empty and ever-expanding landscape, and have no control over your actions as you get frighteningly chipper and spill all your darkest secrets to your crush!
Thida has a more structured nightmare to work with, centered around isolation at first; knowing that you are completely alone in a very small, old house high in the mountains, slowly being snowed in, and yet being compelled to keep looking for people to come home, getting desperate for company - and then shifting to terror as the only figures that approach are ghoulish octopi creatures who brandish weapons. They won't hurt you or catch you, but their threatening aura will be enough to make you want to run, and keep running, because there is nothing you can do to defend yourself.
So that'll be fun!

INK'S NERD GRANDPA AKA THIS EVENT WAS MADE FOR ME
Ford here has a huge host of traumas and anxieties and a very vivid imagination, so he's got a lot to draw on here. Dreams your character might experience during the first part of the event include:
The Hand Dream: Your character is being chased by a gigantic pair of disembodied hands. It's hard to tell whose, though they may get the sense the hands are their own. They may feel as though the hands are attempting to capture or crush them, or take something from them.
The Paralysis Dream: There is something very important that you have to do, but you can't move. Sometimes it's because you are restrained by glowing blue chains that snake around you and attach to cuffs at your wrists, ankles and throat. At other times you will have the horrible experience of slowly turning to gold, losing feeling and control of your body from the feet up.
The Possession Dream: Someone else is in your body, and you know because you're watching from outside of it. You get the feeling that no one else can see or hear you: they believe the thing inside your body is you, even when it does and says things you would never do or say. This can also stray into gore and body horror territory, because the thing in your body thinks pain is hilarious.
The Apocalypse Dream: The sky looks wrong. You have the strongest conviction that you need to fix it, but you don't know how and you can't find anything that might help you. You also have the sense that there are people who are missing who you need to find and protect, but you don't know where. Sometimes you might see long, spidery, gigantic hands and arms reaching through the portal and know they're reaching for you. Sometimes what they're connected to follows.
The Drowning Dream: You are on a little boat. Far away, too far to reach, someone you love is drowning. No matter what you do you can't get to them: the railing is strangely impossible to jump over, rope keeps tangling up your feet, and if you manage to grab and throw it you can never throw it far enough. If you do manage to somehow drag yourself off the boat and beneath the water, they'll sink faster than you can swim. Once you're in the water you'll find yourself unable to hold your breath, and you'll have to wake up or drown as well.
In all of these dreams you may feel a lingering sense of paranoia; you are likely to think other people you see are your enemies and want to hurt you, and you may imagine them with glowing yellow slitted eyes. You may also hear whispers that are indistinct but unsettling, or ones that are distinct and list off all of your failures and mistakes for you in excruciating detail.
These dreams can also be combined, and on the event proper I'll be having options tailored to them and a wildcard option if you want me to just make up something terrible and throw it at you! Ford has a lot to work with and there's plenty I didn't even touch on here.

ARE YA READY KIDS???
SO!
Re: the first 'phase' of the event, anyone who would like a chance for their character to experience a Scary Silent Hill Dream (tm), please go right ahead and comment here with the sorts of things that would disturb your character the most and I will happily whip something up to drop right in your inbox!
This also goes for anyone who'd like to find out more about Heather too, of course-- I try to be fairly sparing with the horrifying backstory details most of the time unless it's with CR she's really close to, but IT'S HALLOWEEN NOW and the trauma is for everybody! Just let me know if you'd like a more Heather-specific thing to experience that could trigger some good CR development and I will happily oblige!
(And also please let me know if you have any triggers that you'd like to avoid. Better safe than sorry!)
Re: the actual forest-wandering, I am basically open to ANYTHING and have all kinds of ideas, so honestly everything I said above still goes for the "Phase 2" dreaming.

Unlike Heather, Wrath is basically going to have variations on only one recurring nightmare. But it's a doozy.
Anyone experiencing Wrath's dream will find themselves either cowering in front of, or already trapped inside and trying to get free from, this enormous, monolithic gate. For a more detailed description of the Gate and what your character might be in for if they encounter it, see over here!
Its manifestation in the forest later on will be SLIGHTLY different, being as it'll be LOOMING IN THE TREES instead of just in a big blank white space, but basically Wrath is going to be continuously fleeing from it but never quite able to get away-- it'll always be just behind him in a clearing or past some trees. WAITING.

At first, the dreams will be simple, just a walk along a path as the sun sets though with an unshakable unnerving feeling. But soon the dreams turn to wandering in a completely different forest this one capped with snow and filled with an oppressive air. Eventually, all wandering will lead people to an almost otherworldly, monolithic wall that stretches on for miles in both directions. Walls that urge to be touched, and faintly call out in a voice that should be recognized. If it is touched, there will be a significant chill, followed by a sense of numbness.
Or... there's always another, familiar dream. Falling. Like the other dream, it has a distinct sense of helplessness, as you can always see the ground you're falling towards.
The last dream is a doozy. Anyone that ends up in it will find themselves in a strange, dark area, with ground made of small stones and steel tracks running into the distance. They may be able to wander along the tracks, or they may feel themselves rooted to a single spot, frozen as a loud whistle echoes in the distance. Sometimes a voice calls out to you, but it's too quiet to really hear, but they definitely try.
Outside of the dreams, Rakka's gonna be wandering the forest with one of three Pokemon in tow: Agatha the Litwick, Bright the Espurr, or Spooky the Trevenant, which might lead into short altercations with the spooooky pokemon following them in the forest...!

Nisha won't have a lot of options, BUT if you so wish, you can witness her death! Nice. Essentially, anyone who stumbles upon this will find themselves in a
shittytown where the rules are made up but they definitely matter. Nisha'll be calling out someone to a shootout that's... not exactly fair (it's not just one-on-one, kiddos) and her death will be the conclusion.Or you can go to the moon! It's very bouncy and full of people who want to kill you. In this one, there'll be all sorts of bad ends: losing oxygen, falling into lava, falling
off the mapinto an endless abyss... or you can be blown up by a giant laser.I'm pretty much here for anything, so hit me.

(1) spaceman
Which is the space gladiator arena. It's big, it's alien, and chances are, you're trapped in there with him -- either against him, or alongside him. There's probably someone you care about up on display, and if you lose, bad things happen to them. On Shiro's part, expect the individual to be a whole variety of different people, depending on the given moment.
Also escape/running themes -- the classic dream where you're running from someone or something and can't move fast enough. Or running toward someone you want to save, but can't get there. Either on your own, or with him in the walking nightmare.
Losing Control will also be present, but that's probably going to come more from his end of things than anything else. Namely in the form of his metal-slash-robot arm going haywire. And, y'know. Murdering people.
Lots of black shadows with yellow eyes are going to pop up everywhere. Uhhhh... I can't think of anything else specifically, but hit me up with anything else you wanna run with this guy!

The Mild Part: For starters, Sasha will have nightmares of being thrown back to her tiny village in the depths of the forest and re-experience the fall of the wall that protected people from the man-eating Titans. Come join her as she remembers how it feels to be pushed out of your own home by people who looked down on you and now those same people are looking to encroach on your territory and take the little bit you have for themselves. This will cover Sasha's memories of starvation and food insecurity and night of having to go to bed without food only to wake up and realize there's still no food. Enjoy feeling helpless? This part's for you. Enjoy feeling like you are the only person who sees none of this making sense because these are people who shit on you for as long as you could remember? This part's for you.
And Now The Macabre: Of course with this being Attack on Titan, we can't ignore people being eaten so with her having those deep upsetting memories of being hungry and never having enough to eat and going to bed hungry days in a row, eventually her nightmare will take a turn for the gross and she'll see that desperation rules everything and all meals are suddenly... human. Yes, the heroes will be taking a page from the Titan books and turning to their own kind just to survive. The nightmare will come down to a choice: stand your ground on principles that Soylent Green does not need to be people or let hunger decide your loved one's fate? How does it feel to see your next door neighbor munching down on your mom? How hungry and desperate are you? The choice is up to you. (and I am totally cool with writing about cannibalism as long as everybody else is cool. I can just hint at it or go straight up grody. Let's talk!)
Through out all this, Sasha and whoever gets into her dream will feel the physical effects of hunger: low energy (running away from danger suddenly becomes so much harder!), constant stomach cramps, dizziness, crankiness, slow thinking, your clothes keep falling off because of rapid weight loss, so on and so forth.

I'm still toying with a bunch of ideas for Bertolt's nightmares that people can take part in, but here's a few basic ones that can be shared;
Marcel; It isn't just the name of one of his Pokemon! It's also the name of one of Bertolt's childhood friends that was sadly killed by a titan after saving the life of a mutual friend and is subsequently one of Bert's recurring nightmares to this day. Maybe the titan grabs one of your friends instead? Or after it finishes eating Marcel/another person, it turns its sights on you? There's no way to fight it either, so the only option is to run like hell and pray that it doesn't catch up to you.
And since it all happened in an open field, good luck hiding.
You're not a...; Imagine you're in a room filled with people. Whether they be your friends, family, people you've known for years, etc. You can hear their voices clear as day, but there's something wrong with them; They're all shadows. Every single person, save for one. For Bertolt, this is his best friend Reiner. For you? It could be anyone you love or care deeply about. Your best friend, your romantic partner, etc. etc. They're the one person that isn't a shadow, and you feel at ease. Even though you don't recognize anyone else, they are with you, and they're not going anywhere.
Until one of the shadows calls for them, and that person slowly starts to turn pitch black. No matter how much you grab at them, how much you call their name, they smile and ask you to give them a minute and then they look just like the rest of them as they walk away. You lose sight of them, and you can't find them again even if you weave through the crowd of shadows. They're gone, and you're alone.
Castle Utgard; Alright, show of hands! Who likes being trapped in a ruined castle at night? It seems like the perfect place for a spooky dream, doesn't it? There's even a way up to the very top of the tower inside, and if you go up there, it's actually a rather nice view! There's trees, fields, and you can even see one of the fifty-meter high walls in the distance. However if you look down, the the real nightmare starts. Down at the base of the castle/tower and coming out of the forest are titans. Big ones, small ones, they're all coming, and start to form a crowd. Sooner or later, they even start trying to destroy it, intent on getting you. To make matters worse you're exhausted, and again, unarmed. What looked like a good place to rest may very well turn into a tomb.
Dreams aside, Bertolt will be in the forest with three pokemon; his Aggron (Reiner), Arcanine (Marcel), and his Phantump (Sir).
I'm still figuring out things for the lucid dream bits though, so I might toss those up here! If there's anything you'd like tailored to you or something in particular you'd like that isn't on here, please feel free to let me know and we can hammer something loose out!
Kiwi & her loser
Never Ever Ever Ever Flash a Sassy Eye at the Good Doctor
You're upright, restrained in a claustrophobic tank, your view of everything beyond your tiny prison distorted by the plexiglass that is an insurmountable barrier between yourself and the woman on the other side. She has glasses, and a white coat, and she'd be very pretty, if she didn't also look so haunted. She's your jail keeper and your own personal torturer, and while you're vaguely aware that she's not happy about being either of those things, you would still happily rip out her throat for the horrors she's visited on you.
Your breath comes heavily, erratically, painfully. There are needles in your veins, monitors attached to your chest and your temples and probably elsewhere, but you can't move your head to see them. The visible condition of your body is a mystery to you. You watch the blurry form of the woman as she crosses what you can see of her laboratory. You glare uselessly at her as she peers into your prison, eyebrows knitted and a frown on her face as she makes her assessments. Your entire body thrashes painfully - almost involuntarily - against your restraints, and you scream at her, a wordless, guttural exclamation of your overpowering desire to kill her and put her out of your misery. The sound of your own voice echoes painfully in your ears, and some small, tiny part of you is cognizant enough to think you don't even sound human anymore. She barely seems to notice your reaction to her presence, and in fact only pauses long enough to adjust her glasses on her nose before she reaches for something on the side of your tank that you can't see, and then your vision blurs as your veins are filled with fire, and you're screaming again, and it's not long before your throat, already raw from the times before, feels like it's been scraped over with broken glass.
The agony is as unbearable as it is implacable. It goes on and on, seconds stretching into into minutes into hours, though you have no way to know how long it's actually been. It feels like a lifetime. You used to scream words - you would beg, you would threaten, you would bargain. But the torture continues, each time for longer and worse than before, and the words have long since disappeared in the maelstrom of anger and horror and despair. The sounds you make now in place of language disgust you, but you can't stop vocalizing, even when you begin to gag from the creeping stench of slag in your tiny prison. The noises you make sound less and less human to your own ears as you begin to retch and heave, and the tiny shriveled up part of you that still cares about things like that shrinks a little smaller, and cares a little less.
I can't see her anymore...She was so clear and bright...
There's a figure in front of you, but you can't make them out at first. You call out, and when they turn to face you, you can see them - It's Angel - It's Maya - It's Gaige - It's Zer0 - It's Axton - It's Salvador -
Angel meets your eyes, and smiles, that beautiful, joyful, unrestrained smile she saves just for you, and your heart lifts and your throat tightens a little, and when she reaches out a hand towards you, you know you've never been happier than you have been in this moment, and you extend your own hand, reaching back toward her, and--
Maya raises one beautifully manicured eyebrow and smirks at you with that mischievous glint in her eyes, the one that always has you dying to know what she's thinking even though you know she'll never tell, she'll just smirk even harder, and then laugh, and gesture at you to join her. And you'll laugh too, because you love her (you adore her you revere her you would kill for her you would die for her), and you move to approach her, but--
Gaige blinks when she sees you, and then grins that open, warm, charming grin, the one that surprised you the first time you saw it turned on you but that now grounds you and makes it easier to focus, and she moves to join you, her (awesome and supremely badass) robot arm raised for a high five. You raise your own arm and step forward to meet her halfway, and--
Zer0 regards you inscrutably for several moments before he flashes a bright red ":)" emote in front of his blank faceplate. He waves you over with a gesture, and you can tell from the set of his narrow shoulders and the tension in his wiry body that he's seen something he wants to share with you, and you know whatever it is it's going to be awesome, so you step closer to him, and--
Axton sees you and grins, and tosses something for you to catch. You react instinctively, and catch it easily, snatching it from the air and glancing down to see what it is. It's a class mod, a saw blade, something Axton can't use but you can, so he picked it up and brought it with him so that he could give it to you, and you're touched by his thoughtfulness. You look back up at him to say something, maybe even "thank you", but--
Salvador laughs when he sees you and immediately steps toward you, a wide, conspiratorial grin on his face as he shows you a large bottle with no label. You and he are going to get blasted, and paint the town red, and then pass out. In the morning you'll wake up with a pair of matching hangovers and bond in your mutual misery. Even knowing the end result, you can't wait to get started, so you start to approach him to hurry things along, but--
--She's gone--
--He's gone--
And you're alone, and there was nothing you could do to stop it, or anything you can do to change it. Sometimes they leave you. Sometimes they're killed. Sometimes you don't know what happened, but it doesn't matter, because they're not coming back, and it's what you deserve anyway. Monsters don't deserve friends. It serves you right.
Look at me when I scream at your soul!
Your breath is rasping in your throat and your heart is pounding in your chest and your blood is screaming through your veins, and with each wet smack and heavy thunk of your axe, you know you're alive. Each and every scream of agony created by your hand, each and every death rattle confirms your strength, your power, your existence. You revel in the sensation of other people's blood and viscera that covers your hands and your arms and your chest and your face. The sound and sight and smell and taste of slaughter is intoxicating, and you laugh as you effortlessly end life after life, each body just another confirmation that you survived.
But you're also horrified by your own euphoria, sickened beyond measure at the massacre unfolding before your eyes, caused by your own hands. You want to stop it but you can't. You have no control over your own actions. Your soul was drowned in slag and all that's left is the rage wrought by despair, and that burning, smoldering anger is what has control, and it wants an outlet, and satisfaction, and proof that all of your suffering wasn't for nothing, and it's going to carve that proof out of living flesh until the blood rises so high you can drown in it for real.
Anna!!!
> A dream of being on a sinking ship that looks and feels suspiciously like the one her parents sank on
> A dream of feeling unbearably cold, but no matter what she does to try and keep warm, the cold never goes away
> A dream of endless, empty hallways; she can hear people somewhere, but no matter how much she wanders, she can never find the source.
And any combination of the three! She's going to be pretty understandably freaked out by all of this, so if you want to deal with a stressed out princess, this is your chance! I'd love to have current and new CR involved so don't be shy, come plot with me!!
