Merry Rewardmas
On Christmas Eve, it's not just Santa who comes bearing gifts this year. At some point during the evening, every Trainer who helped out during the last event, no matter in how great or small a manner (so everyone except you, Dirk) will hear a knock at the door, a thump on the roof, or a roar outside the window. And when they check they will find the two great legendary birds. They come bearing gifts.
No longer possessed by or weakened from Necrozma’s powers, Lugia and Ho-oh are now very much abashed, and have some trouble maintaining eye contact, looking up and away or staring steadily at the dirt beneath Trainers’ feet. They place the objects of their gratitude into human hands with surprising delicacy for their size, shuffle their feet or ruffle their feathers once or twice, then clear their throats and take off hastily, in search of the next recipient.
To help out a bit, a few of the gifts will be delivered by their children, but for the most part, this is a task taken on by Lugia and Ho-oh. They know they haven't always been on their best behaviour the last few years and that their insistence on handling everything themselves is what led to things happening as they did. As such, the gifts delivered are both an apology and a thank you.
But that's not all! On Christmas morning, every trainer and breeder who has been brought here from a different world (yes, even you, Dirk) will wake up to to a second basket placed near their bed. Inside they will find a Pokémon egg sitting on a soft blanket, as well as a card with a dark paw-print on it.
In all honesty, Nephelis feels a bit bad that it hadn't been able to do more for the foreigners during this last event. It had been brought into life to be the God of Different Worlds, and yet, all it had been able to do during the battle against Necrozma was run and find other legendaries to help.
As such, this gift too is both apology and gratitude. Gratitude towards the many individuals for who it was brought into life and an apology as well as a promise to do better in the future, to protect them as a legendary should.
The eggs themselves seem quite unassuming at first, but as they slowly start hatching one by one over the coming days and weeks, trainers will be in for a surprise! Rather than hatching a new friend with familiar face, trainers will find themselves in the possession of a Pokémon of the Galar region. Their Pokégears will immediately update with these new acquisitions, showing information on each newly hatched Pokémon.

Inside each basket, trainers will find four items:
- The first is a small bag with a golden sheen, tied with a pure white string. Inside, trainers will find Ho-oh's Sacred Ash. This rare and powerful medicine will fully heal and revive all Pokémon within a trainer's party.
- The second is another small bag white a pearly white sheen, tied with a dark blue string. Inside trainers will find Lugia's Deepsea Salt. This rare and powerful medicine will fully heal and revive all Pokémon within a trainer's party.
- The third is a roughly woven necklace, decorated with chips of bone and teeth. Whose teeth and bone, we just don't know. When worn, the wearer will feel an odd pulse off power coming from the necklace, one that acts as a challenge to all wild Pokémon in the area. While wearing it, trainers will experience a greatly increased encounter rate for wild Pokémon, including rare Pokémon. This is the Beasts' challenge.
- This fourth and final item is a more neatly woven necklace, decorated with feathers and small, colourful chips of stone. Based on the feather's colours, these most likely came from Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno themselves. When worn, the wearer will feel a calming presence descend on them, one that even calms the moods of the wild Pokémon in an area. While wearing it, trainers will experience a greatly decreased encounter rate for wild Pokémon, allowing them to traverse areas in relative peace. This is the Birds' gratitude.
