February Event info
A bit of extra information regarding the February events 'Magnets, how do they work' and 'Shrove it!'. Because there is only so much information we can put on your calendar!
Freaky Friday: Magnets, how do they work?
On Friday, the Third, things will be getting a little... freaky.
Okay, not like that!
But whether it is due to the build up of static in the air or a strange fluctuation in whatever has brought us all here or maybe just Arceus having a laugh, this Friday characters will find themselves having magnetic personalities.
Literally!
What does that mean, you might ask? Well, just like two magnets will be attracted to each other and stick together, your characters will find themselves dealing with that same thing. When they touch another character (and it doesn't even have to be a conscious touch -- it could also just be an accidental collision or brushing by one another) they might find themselves unable to pull away from that first point of contact. Touched your friend on the shoulder? Have fun walking around all day with your hand stuck there. Did they touch your chest to push you away? Boy, you are becoming kind of a tangle of limbs, aren't ya? Best not call over a third friend to try and pull you apart lest we really start turning this thing into some crazy Katamari ball of people.
But, attracting and sticking to each other isn't the only thing magnets do. In fact, some people might find themselves dealing with the opposite problem. No matter how they try, they'll find themselves unable to touch other people. Just like trying to shove two magnets of like poles against each other, they'll find themselves flying apart. Hopefully you weren't trying to get a sweet kiss in. Or sleeping in one small tent together. The results might be... not very good.
So, to sum it up, today your characters will essentially act like magnets. When touching other characters, they might either stick together or be repelled away from one another. To make it a little easier on them, they'll only stick together to their first point of contact. Hopefully that... won't be too embarrassing.
Whether your character will be sticking to people or repelling them is entirely up to you! In fact, it's totally fine to stick to some people and repel others. It's also fine to stick to multiple people.
Can't pick? Want randomness to play a role? Why not check your journal ID on your profile page or the month you apped in. An even number? Congrats, you are sticking to folk. Uneven? You go yeet.
Also, as always, this event is entirely optional!

Swarm - Shrove it!
On Tuesday the Twenty-First, Alolan Raichu will be drifting around everywhere. Feel free to catch one and add it to your team!
That's not the weird part though.
(Well, swarms are kinda weird, but it's expected weird at this point!)
The weird part is that all those Alolan Raichu will come bearing food -- pancakes to be exact. Did they make these themselves? Is someone starting up a food delivery business using only Raichu? Whatever the case might be, the Alolan Raichu seem very eager to get you to taste some of their delicious pancakes.
And they are delicious. Really fluffy and perfectly hot.
If you end up eating one of the pancakes (which, uh, do you often eat food given to you by random animals?) your character will experience one of the following effects. They can only experience one effect, even if they horf down multiple pancakes, so choose carefully!
Amplify happiness
Your character will find themselves feeling extraordinary happy today. It might be about something big or something silly and small, but they'll feel lighter than air. And in a mood to share that happiness.
Amplify fear
Is your character afraid of anything? Are there some nerves they've been hiding? After eating a pancake, those fears are going to be feeling worse than normal. Heck, they might even find themselves afraid of something they've never been afraid of before! And the only thing that seems to help ease those fears is to share them.
Amplify sadness
We all have those pains we keep hidden and close to our chests. Normally they might not bother us much, but one bite of these pancakes, and it seems to dominate all you can think of. All those little hurts you normally keep pushed down below threaten to drown you. Maybe someone can be your lifeline?
Amplify anger
Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go primeape shit? With your belly full of pancake, suddenly it feels like all those little irritations just keep bubbling up. How dare that door snag on your hoodie? Why are these customers so annoying? Why did the world demand you be a hero when it should've protected you? Maybe a listening ear will help quell those sensations. Or just go punch something.
Hiccups
Actually, these are just hiccups. Weird that they won't go away though.
As always, this event is totally optional, and, hey, maybe stop eating random food given to you by animals? Just a tip!

(A certain someone may have an Alolan Raichu who will probably scarf down all the pancakes)

Pokemon could still scarf down a lot of the pancakes (the Raichu always seem to have more somehow) but they won't be dealing with the effects.

Truly, this event is just about getting a little silly and putting your characters into situations that could be awkward/embarrassing/funny, so pretty much anything goes.
