Grant Abaroa | OC | werewolves!!

Alright, I'm gettin' to this real late since RL was beating me up recently, but just in case anyone is interested!! Why not pick up some good ol' lycanthropy this fourth wall!

Details on how being a werewolf works in Grant's world:

- Enhanced senses: Werewolves have stronger senses of smell and hearing than most humans, including smelling things like the slight shifts in scent that come with strong emotion, and smelling magical residue! Some can pick out/identify individual scents or sounds more accurately, as well - though it's partly a matter of practice, and partly one of luck. In any case, the downside of this is that particularly noisy or strong-smelling locations can get overstimulating easily.

- Strength and constitution: What it sounds like! Werewolves tend to be physically stronger and hardier than other humans.

- Emotional control/impulsivity: Lycanthropy kinda Does Things to your brain. While the type of werewolf Grant is aren't necessarily more aggressive than a regular human, they tend to feel their emotions very strongly/viscerally, and sometimes struggle with focus and impulse control. They don't have no control over themselves or anything like that, it can just be kind of tough to keep their kneejerk reactions at bay unless they've specifically worked on that a lot (so, for example, a character who's already put a lot of work into emotional control may have a harder time with it while werewolf'd, but would still have that advantage over someone who isn't used to thinking about those things consciously).

- Animal features: Even at their most humanoid, many werewolves display some number of physical signs of their condition. Slightly pointed ears, more/thicker body hair, and larger, more prominent eyeteeth are most common, but other features like subtly thicker "padded" areas on the hands and feet, vestigial tails, and so forth come up now and then, as well. Related, werewolves also have a somewhat higher rate of intolerance or allergies for foods that are toxic to dogs or other carnivores, such as caffeine.

- Silver sensitivity: Silver is caustic to werewolves! Lower-content silver alloys may just cause some discomfort, but contact with pure silver causes an immediate burning sensation, and can do some serious damage to soft tissues if contact isn't broken quickly.

- Full moon transformation: HILARIOUSLY, THIS IS RELEVANT FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN VR. The night of the 19th is (was) a full moon! After sunset on full moons - even if they're out of reach of the moonlight itself - werewolves will change shape involuntarily, taking on a typically larger, more animalistic form. These forms can resemble domestic dogs, wild canids, or even other types of carnivore with a superficial resemblance to canids (for example, hyenas). They generally still have thumbs, and can stand on either two or four legs (though four tends to be more comfortable). Mentally speaking, they'll still be basically themselves during this time, though the difficulties with focus and emotional/impulse control get a lot stronger, and the changes to their vocal chords make regular speech impossible.
