Rocket meet-up FAQ
Welcome, Rockets, and enjoy your mandatory Employee Retreat.
The way things will work is as follows: on Friday and Saturday, you'll be forced to participate in all manner of games and activities all in the name of bonding. Think of every horrendous thing ever inflicted on you by HR: trust falls, 'Two truths and a Lie', going around the group and introducing your neighbour. It will all be inflicted on you, with no way out. There might also be the odd useful activity, such as a quick course on how to pick locks and some tips on taking care of your Pokémon partners.
Don't even bother thinking about escape -- you are too far from the actual city to make any meaningful distance, and they will find you.
On Sunday, you'll be putting your new team unity to the test with a planned heist, which all will participate in. More information on the heist itself can be found below.
ICly, your characters' attendance is mandatory, but OOCly, we can't expect such things from you. So if you are not able to participate in this log (whether in the silly employee bonding part or in the heist) we won't hold it against you or your character. For those that are able to participate, we will keep your activity here in mind for the next time you receive a reward from Team Rocket and make sure whatever you receive will be extra special.
The Bonding
For the Team Bonding part of the weekend, we are going to allow you to go as silly and soul-crushingly horrendous as you want. All Otherworlders will be grouped together in a big group for this, along with some random rockets. You certainly aren't the only group of rockets forced to participate in this madness! However, due to the size of Team Rocket, you've been divided up into various groups. And it just so happens that all you folks from different worlds are in one group.
Funny how that happens.
Feel free to NPC CHR (Criminal Human Resources) person Brenda for this. All you really need to know about her is that with her pump and zest, as well as her constant 1000 gigawatt smile, she could absolutely be an announcer for the next Hunger Game.
Even while you are not participating in the exercises, you are expected to stay at the cabin the whole weekend. Food and beds will be arranged for you. Don't expect a private room though, even if you are an alpha. You'll all bunk together and you'll like it!
(Or at the very least, you won't complain directly where the higher ups can hear you)
The Heist
The heist will be happening Sunday night in the Cianwood City Harbour. Transportation there will be arranged. Your task is to enter the harbour (there is some security), and locate a certain shipments of large crates. The areas where the crates are stored, as well as security patrols, are marked on your map. Once the shipment crates have been located, you must break them open and release the Pokemon inside. Do not catch the Pokemon. Once the Pokemon have been released, get out of there ASAP.
You will receive a monetary bonus for participating in this heist.
Every rocket will receive a map of the harbour. Feel free to use that information in planning your heist in any way you wish. Team Rocket doesn't care if you try to go in there via stealth, create a distraction, or just bust down some security guards (though if you choose to do that, make it quick and silent), just as long as the target is reached. You are strongly encouraged to team up with some other rocket members, though it is up to you how big your team will be.
Again, the target is several giant shipping crate -- the sort to transport massive Pokemon. Open the lock (maybe that quick lock picking course will come in handy), tear through the sides, again, Team Rocket is fine with whatever way you wish to approach it. Just do not harm the Pokemon inside.
What Pokemon is inside, you ask? Team Rocket doesn't feel it is important enough to mention in their debriefing materials, but once you get there, you might just get the shock of a lifetime.
In any case, release them, and then get the hell out of there!
So, how does this work?
Put up your top levels as you see fit and go ham! Wanna have your character doing trust falls and two truths and one lie? Wanna have them sneaking around and taking out security guards? Just do it! The heist will be assumed to be an overall success.
I'm not a Rocket, but I want to fight! Can I do that?
Sure, as long as you're okay with losing to Team Rocket. Any non-Rockets that manage to find out about this plan will be unable to prevent the heist, but you're welcome to put up a good fight. Hey--Team Rocket's gotta get a win every now and then to be labelled a credible threat. Just think of it as future fuel for revenge.
What are the guard patrols like?
They're mostly individual or double guards with a small team of 3-4 Pokémon at their disposal. Think of them like NPC Trainers in a Pokémon game, with single and double battles that you can engage in. You can make up what Pokémon they might have.
What the heck ARE these Pokémon, anyways? Why is Team Rocket releasing them?
Who knows? :)
Erm...well, how can we expect these Pokémon to act once released?
These Pokémon will be wild and uncontrollable, which may lead to some difficulty in your escape. They'll try digging into the ground, even breaking concrete and metal to try and get to the soil, leaving large tunnels in their wakes. Which his why it's probably best you run as fast as you can after releasing them.
