Holiday Gifts 2025

With holidays on the horizon, it's long past time to start thinking about the real reason for the season and that is gifts. Yes, yes, joy to all, peace on earth etc etc, but deep down what we all want to do is tear some wrapping paper off boxes and be dazzled by the contents.

In order to keep things a bit organized, we'll be putting this up as a central gift-giving post.

★★ Arceus' gift

As many of you long term players might already know, Arceus tends to drop a few gifts on the people he has brought here in December. And this year is no different! These gifts will be delivered December the 25th, and yes, they will go out to all. Arceus doesn't judge. Maybe he should, but he doesn't.

★★ Your gifts

If your character is the kind to get their friends a bunch of things, feel free to use this post to distribute the offerings. Much easier than hitting up a bunch of inboxes! If you would rather distribute your characters' gifts individually in various inboxes, that's fine too! This post is merely an option for people who'd like to keep things in one central location.

Now with that all out of the way, let us take a moment to wish you all a very merry Christmas, happy holidays, and for those that don't celebrate, just a generally nice December.

Finally, as mods we'd like to thank you all for another great and fun year, in which we treated Snorunts, raced Swinubs (okay mostly other Pokemon), time-traveled to prehistoric Johto, got lost in Smeargle art, foiled Rocket plots and dealt with a warp pad fiasco, and rescued passengers from a sinking ship. We look forward to next year (which the mods are busily plotting)!

(frozen comment) Arceus' Gift

When your characters arise from slumber on December 25th, there will be a special gift from Arceus (or Santa? A combination of Santa and Arceus?) underneath their tree. If there is no tree, it's definitely somewhere nearby. Might be in their shower, might be sitting in a kitchen cupboard, might be mysteriously shoved under their sleeping bag even though they were still sleeping in it - but they'll certainly find it.

As every year, while ICly, it seems that Arceus has picked which gift your character will receive, OOCly, it's of course, you guys picking. This year, we have three different options you can choose from. Every character will receive one gift.

The different gifts you can select from are:

A Shiny Egg of Your Choice

or

A Hidden Ability Candy

or

An Object From Home1

¹ General guidelines are no weapons; no technology beyond what exists in VR; any magical effects are gone; no creatures; and size wise, think of something that would fit in a suitcase.

Emporio Alniño

Emporio's gifts for his CR are generally pretty personalized- but for the sake of keeping it simple in case people don't post here, they always tend to focus on the person, followed by what the person can do for their Pokemon. Since this year he's had to actually use his funds for Gym upkeep, that probably means some nice winter gear, or clothing suited to their lifestyle, as well as treats for their main team.

People who he knows less strongly will get at least one holiday card though!
