Hey everybody! From the guy who brought Walter Sullivan into this game I (Chinchill!) now bring: Ash, my Original Character!

Ash is an idiot. The kind of idiot who'd appear on Jackass before tightrope walking over a pool of alligators. Normally he has his dad and some sensible friends to help keep him in line / out of trouble but he currently does not and has a Riolu who has the exact same attitude as him. SO in the world of Pokemon, where you get given a cute little fighting monster, pat on your head and sent on your way...yeah, he's gonna be trouble! He's a trainer so at least he's not in the Rockets...

He's also a huge fan of horror so will be naming his Pokemon after characters from movies, books and games of the genre, along with names from music and the fairy tales he was told growing up by his Irish Dad. Needless to say, if you have a character from a horror franchise he's probably heard of them but I'll try to avoid knocking on the fourth wall too much!

ALSO I wanted to ask you a question actually! Naturally Ash would know about Resident Evil but given that...well, you're here, I wouldn't want him to knock down the fourth wall like the Koolaid Man on steriods. So is it okay if he knocks on the door by mentioning a series called Biohazard instead?

He would've totally named a Pokemon after characters in the seriesJSYK

WELL either way it isn't canonical but the japanese name would actually probably have her ear perk considering it's more relevant to the series (if you don't know the only reason it was called "resident evil" in the west was because of the awful metal band being big in the 90s here). i'm pretty cool with it but i typically am not comfortable with personal fourth walling. i cannot speak for the chris player but ya'll could probably pm her butt, she's screaming into french homework all weekend tho.

if it's something you're like DEAD set on tho i'm just gonna shrug and do what you wanna do da doo doo but again i can't speak for the pardner. just know if you name one wesker jill will be on his ass like pb on bread.

Nah, like I said I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. I mean, there's silent hill peeps here too. The most I'd ever want to do in terms of fourth wall is a cheeky nudge to the series, i.e. him talking about a video game of hyper mutant virus zombos called Local Terror or something dumb like that, rather than going OH SHIT IT'S JILL VALENTINE. I mean, Ash's entire name is a reference to various horror characters!

So yeah, he won't be naming any after them unless there's a way to make it incidental.

yeah i wasn't sure what your jam was, so i didn't wanna smash it. i definitely only think of ash ever as one ash and i happen to dabble in the occasional horror critique for sweet sweet money dollars and am perhaps a minor horror enthusiast but that may be on the dl huhuhu

Don't worry about my jam, my jam is jamming along nicely either way! And let's face it, there's tons of horror out there he can sample for names and shit (I may or may not fully intend to have him name a Pokemon Bub after the best zombie in all of cinema)

It's nice to have my internet come back for more than five minutes, but yeah feel free to do either. Although personally I actually prefer canonically BIOHAZARD for the whole series thing but if you wanted to call it Live-In Unpleasantness or something I'd be cool with it (actually I'd watch that; a b-movie, possibly with bad CGI?)
