Minor Player Plot: Phantom Thief Wendy

Hey there, Victory Road! James here, player of the local resident Ringleader, Joker. And if we haven't met before, you're more than welcome to friend me over at plurk. But more importantly-

~Who wants a free Pokemon~

He has a total of seven (7) Pokemon that he will randomly leave in the hands of various PC trainers all throughout Johto (sorry Kanto travelers but he can't make it across the pond). Each Pokemon has been gifted with a single TM, because Joker is such a nice fellow. The Pokemon are as follows:

- Flash the lv 18 Chinchou with Toxic

- Spot the lv 24 Furfrou with Roar
-- [Korra]

- Sweetie the lv 29 Woobat with Light Screen
-- [Envy]

- Stripes the lv 18 Houndour with Sunny Day
-- [Sion]

- Gum the lv 24 Togedemaru with Poison Jab
-- [unclaimed]

- Maes the lv 25 Lapras with Ice Beam
-- [Ash]

- Ash the lv 15 Larvesta with Double Team
-- [unclaimed]

When claiming a Pokemon, please let me know two things: First, where in Johto your character is. Second, if you want a place to thread out in a log them finding their new Pokemon. (Relevant mostly to those traveling in groups.)

"Hey, Joker, where'd you get all these Pokemon?" Well. Uh. If you're in Team Rocket, you'll want to pay attention to this next part....

...because he's kind of stealing all these Pokemon from you.

At the end of the week, a log will go up where "Rocket Grunt Wendy" will be making her way through the Goldenrod Rocket HQ- a pretty thing with long blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. She will be very generally helpful! And all these new people who came with the new Admins- well, who's to say she's not with them? Don't mind if you see her everywhere.

....Except when you don't, and someone suddenly realizes that seven Pokemon have been stolen. Did "Wendy" leave a calling card mocking Team Rocket? YOU BET SHE DID. Is "Wendy" actually Joker? YOU BET.

While he's there, Joker also plans on getting all the gossip on the new admins and using his tech-savvy Pokemon to hack into the Rocket systems where he'll input another Rocket alias so that he can come back as a "Rocket" later for a longer con.

This post is basically a heads up to let you all know what's happening, and to plot if you want to do something with "Wendy" while she's dropping by! Joker is definitely getting away with this (this time), but that doesn't mean shenanigans can't be had in the meanwhile.

I'd love for Joker to meet with Walter! Come and see him in the labs...it'll be interesting given Walter's own little plot.

Question regarding the Pokemon being handed out; are the names fixed or can different nicknames be given? You know Ash would be keen on the Lapras or the Larvesta, he'd just have his own ideas for names (and given the idea we had on plurk regarding Walter and Joker, it's probably best the Larvesta not go to my other character).

OH YEAH you can always change the names. These are just what might come up if a psychic pokemon asks them or whatever first.

Currently Goldenrod. He's going to be going for a week holiday in Cerulean, once his badge is confirmed and he's gotten the prize money to go and visit some friends. But he'll be returning after - he's staying there for a bit to enjoy the city before he thinks about moving on.

So on the one hand, if he was aware of where the pokemon came from, he'd wonder whether it was actually stolen by team rocket from someone else to begin with. On the other hand.... Sion is all for undermining those troublemakers so perhaps something should come of this anyway??

lmao well Joker is aiming to not really stick around anywhere- he has a lot of Pokemon to give homes to! So he'll probably just drop it off at Sion's hotel/home/tent/whatever and bounce in the dead of night

Both the gym and his/Ryner's house are south/southwest of Ecruteak on Route 37! Though uh. Be warned that there's a LOT of pokemon in and around the house, including several Sion's specially trained/assigned to patrol/be guards, so actually breaking in may require some Mission Impossible antics.

Unless you'd want him to be caught and have a nice midnight chat with Sion that never officially happened. XD


EDIT: oh right do the 'mons already have gender/nature/etc picked out? And what would show up if a character tried to look up its original trainer info?

Right now, all I'm imagining is a person in a wig crashing into Sion's yard on a Charizard, dropping off a fire dog, and then hauling wing while a bunch of other Pokemon go "what the hell".

The mons don't have anything picked out! The name can even be changed, it's not a problem. As for the OT, the Rockets have essentially done the poke-equivalent of scratching out the serial number, so there's nothing on the original trainer info.

... be glad Warden the haxorus can't fly, haha. XD There's a good chance one of the flying types might pursue him for a bit though, but if Sion's not around/doesn't get there fast enough they'd probably break off once Joker's far enough away, if you want to completely avoid a face to face meeting!

And aww, poor pokemon. :( I'm guessing the police won't have anything on file they could match it up to, either? Because Sion would totally try to find out if it belongs to someone first if he's remotely suspicious about, y'know, someone in a disguise flying around on a charizard dropping off mystery pokemon. XD
