Summer Solstice!
This coming Wednesday, June 21st, the residents of Azalea Town are throwing a festival to honor both the summer solstice and the apparent presence of the legendary Celebi! There will be all the games, trinket booths, and fried food you’d expect at a small town festival, as well as free admission to the Ilex Forest Treetop Adventure Park. There will be guided treks into the forest to leave offerings at the old Shrine, too. But the residents aren’t the only people interested in Celebi’s presence…several chapters of native Legendary Seekers are attending, and they want eyes (and hopefully cameras) on the ground. So they’ve organized transportation for anybody who wants to get out to the festival and back, from any city in Johto or Kanto. And hey, maybe they’ll get some new recruits out of it! Characters will be able to find out about these rides from news broadcasts about the rumors and the festival, and also from Seeker-distributed flyers in Pokemon Centers.
During the festival, the wonky time based events will concentrate into Azalea in mostly benign, if startling ways. Flowers blooming instantaneously, Slowpoke zooming along at high speed, that ride on the zipline seeming to last ages…or that it seems to happen about five times in a row. Throughout the day, people will likely even catch a glimpse of the legendary Celebi itself! It’s loving the party and all the offerings it’s getting because of it, and at the end will see fit to gift everyone who attended a little token of appreciation back.
Yes, that’s right, there’s a prize involved. Everyone who attends the festival will find a large, egg-shaped capsule in their bag containing one Fossil of any type the player chooses. Now, a few years back the technology to revive these fossils was brought into the public eye, and then fell into disuse due to well, the lack of fossils to revive. But within a week or so, the revival machines will be rolled out of the back rooms of the Pokemon Centers and re-installed for use.
A log for the festival will go up on the 21st! Ask any questions here.
NOTE: Attending this event will NOT be the only way to obtain a fossil Pokemon!
And thank you to AC, player of Sion, who originally submitted this plot!
