Hi all, Gummi here with an exciting not really? announcement.

The Breeder's Union Registration List is ready to be populated!

Basically any breeder who wants to be on the list can add their details to the main registration page, then duplicate the Breeders Template tab at the bottom, rename the copy to you character name and fill in the more detailed breeder info. You can also link to your breeder tab on the main registration page :).

I've filled out Hermione's so you can see how it looks.

I've tried to make it as easy as possible to use, so there are drop down tabs for gender, types and egg types, and I've left off levels so you don't have to go in and update it 50 billion times, only when you have a new Mon for the list.

While the list is for breeders to populate, it's also a quick reference for everyone else to see what breeders have, so people can make requests for a certain pokemon egg, or request the use of a certain pokemon for breeding.

Any issues let me know. It should be set up so anyone can update it. I'll also be putting up an IC post about it shortly.

WEIRD QUESTION but just for reference, how much of that spreadsheet is actually IC info? Like for example, as far as I'm aware I don't think I've heard of any characters making the IC connection between breeders being able to breed shinies and HAs while trainers can't (or at least I can't remember it coming up...) so ICly characters might not think to submit that sort of info. And similarly would the list have public contact information for characters ICly? Since I can imagine some characters might not want all their info disclosed outside their circle of fellow breeders....

Tbh the whole thing is supposed to be IC but breeders don't have to be put on the list or disclose all their details. They could just put contact details if they don't want to put their full roster UP. Alternatively it could be a mix of IC and OOC if you write a note in the main breeder registry saying that the info is only available to fellow breeders and not released on the public listing. It would be too hard to create a completely separate spreadsheet to differentiate between them.

Also give how long the game has been going for I would assume that even though trainers may not realise they can breed shinies, it's pretty obvious that breeders know they can. Plus including info like HAs and shinies is the same as if you were breeding in the real world - different colours, temperaments etc, so I don't think it would be unusual for those details to be included.

Yeah just the way it was formatted/set up really confused me as to whether it's meant to be an IC or an OOC list. XD I THINK THOUGH Riku's player has a whole breeding center account of sorts set up? So maybe they'd be someone to talk to about setting up a page there, idk.

As for shinies, I believe it's known they can be bred, since obviously people have had shinies hatch from bred eggs, but beyond "it's a rare but cool thing!" I haven't heard of anyone knowing how it works. AMUSINGLY ENOUGH THOUGH as I was just commenting in the discord, I realized recently that Sion and Ryner are in a perfect situation to discover the HA breeding mechanic (they have an absol pair between them where both absols have their HA, meaning if Sion breeds them no eggs will have it, but if Ryner does ALL will) so if/when that happens I imagine it'd be easy to realize the "only breeders can breed shinies" thing too...

Hi I'm popping in here late, I just noticed at least that when Botan loaned out her Ditto to Ford (a fellow breeder who doesn't have one) he did end up with shiny Pokemon, and I'm sure he would have mentioned that to her, so maybe it's spread around like a little in-community secret at this point? Like I mentioned to you in the Discord, Botan at least HAS been around for a while and noticed the correlation of shiny breeding = shiny offspring even if not necessarily that only breeders can do it.

Idk if I'm making sense here, it's just my two (non)cents.

Oh yeah, that they can be bred is obvious, I was just wondering if someone had actually ICly figured out it's only breeders who can do it or not.

Of course, I don't even know how much data someone would need to ICly gather to figure out the actual percentages, ahaha....
