the_plateau | -1 Ringleader

Well, this is it, folks! With that last log up and doing well, it's time for Joker to take his final bow out of Johto. He's been here since 2013, had a blast the whole few years, but all shows come to an end sooner or later!

Fortunately, when I first talked to the mods about this, they very generously allowed me to let Joker's troupe of Pokemon continue to run Eve's Garden Circus, which is officially under the new management of.... a Mime Jr. and a Zoroark. It's fine, Pokemon have long since infiltrated our society anyway. But no, really- please feel free to use the Eve's Garden Circus for all sorts of things, and have fun with it! While I've given it and its workers over to the mods to use for any and all plot things they might want to do in the future, that doesn't mean everyone else here can't drop by for a nice afternoon! Nothing would make me or the muse happier.

That's everything I have to say for people in general! As for Joker's CR.... The things he's left behind for them are in the comments to this post.

Joker won't be explicitly leaving any of his Pokemon behind for anyone, as they'll be helping to maintain the circus. However, if anyone wants to drop by and ask one to stay with them for the memories, most of them will agree.... save for Joker's main team (Angel, Invidia, Ruby, Lightning, Rogue, and Princess Guls), who will stick by the circus no matter what. Just let me know if your character walks away with someone.

However, he has left various letters and gifts for those he knows....

Dear Envy,

It looks like the time has finally come for me to step off the stage! As I'm writing this, I can't be sure when this has happened, but I can say that I thought I would disappear a lot sooner. We both know the time for people in this place doesn't last long. Still, what a time it's been! This is not what I thought would be awaiting for me after death, and I can't complain a single bit about it.

With that said, I can't rightfully say what will be awaiting for me beyond Johto if all the priests I've ever listened to have turned out to be wrong. Honestly, when I last was in England, my good arm had been sliced off and I'd been left to die in a burning building. While it could be called a warm welcome back, I rather suspect it wouldn't do much good for me, and thus who knows what will happen now? For all we know, with worlds clearly beyond those of the ones we knew, I may continue this existence of bounding from place to place far away from my own England. If I am honest, it is not a fate I would mind much. I have not cared for my homeland since I was young. All that I truly miss are the faces of my family, most who I have not seen in many years now. I hurt with longing to see them again, and would gladly lose my arm again if I were to get the chance.

Yet while the separation from my family has pained me greatly, it's been lessened by the presence of you and your own. I want to let you know that it has meant the world to me that I've been able to work alongside you, and live these past few years with you as I have. If you and yours had been alive in my England, I have no doubt that me and mine would have been at your side inevitably. It is a thing I can imagine very easily inside my head. Perhaps you can say the same on your end, and perhaps our lives would have been very different if one or the other had been true. Regardless, things that have tormented me no longer sting as much thanks to you.

Regardless of anything else, knowing full well we are nearly twins in many things, you are a good person in my eyes. If there's anything I hope, besides being reunited with my sibling, it is to see you again in circumstances as kind as what we've experienced.

Along with the letter, Envy will receive a mask of a Zoroark, done in a sort of archaic style, and a makeup kit with all the colors and sparkles of the rainbow. One of the lipsticks glows in the dark.

Dear Lust,

While truly it breaks my heart to be separated from a woman so lovely, perhaps I will be able to move on from your taken status with enough distance. Oh, woe to a broken heart!

In all honesty, if you are receiving this letter, than I imagine it is because I have finally drawn my namesake in the game of chance that is living here in this world. I have been here for over four years, which is a great deal more than other people have gotten. I can't say I regret much of it, besides that it has meant not being able to see my own family for far too long.

Your own has given me some comfort and light with that absence, however, and I want you to know that I am thankful for that. I will miss the quiet moments we have been able to enjoy besides one another, along with what strolls and outings we have had. I hope you remember them fondly as well, and live a good life.

Dear Wrath,

I have to leave Johto for now. I know this will probably make you upset but it will be okay. We will see each other again one day. I pinky promise. (Go see Invidia, and he will help me make it. That way you know it will happen.) While you are the best little brother I could have asked for, I miss the rest of my family too. I have not seen them in years. When I see you again, I will try to get you to meet them, and they will love you too. They will not love you as much as I do, of course, but I do love you a whole lot.

While I am gone, be a good boy, okay? You now have a very special job until I come back. The circus will be lonely while I am gone, and will need to be watched over so nothing bad happens to it. Keep it safe. I'm sure Angel and Invidia will help you.

Accompanying the letter will be a ringleader's top hat, fitted for Wrath and his wild hair. Inside it will be resting a small crocheted Charmander and a Joker playing card. Written on the back of it will be instructions that 784 others have been hidden around the circus, some of the circus' business partners in town, Whitney's gym, and Wrath's house. (They'll be hidden there by Angel when Wrath isn't looking.) If he finds all of them, the troupe will make him a celebration dinner.

Envy has been someone I have cared for quite a while since I've been here, with the two of us sharing a lot in common. I'll trust you to continue watching over him, or at least being his partner in crime, while I'm gone. I hope you two continue to make each other happy.
