EVENT WRAP... AND SOME NEWS?!

AND THUS ENDS ONE LONG CHAPTER IN OUR TALE...

And thus wraps up our Daylight Savings event, and with it, a long chapter in Victory Road's story that first started with our Dog Days event two years ago! It's been a long road, but we are happy to have all walked it with you. Of course, this is far from the end of our tale, and there is more yet to come, but now we can safely say that our characters no longer need to fear inter-dimensional portals or invasions by light-stealing god-monsters.

SO, WHAT ABOUT OUR REWARDS?

Naturally, given the feat that was just accomplished, everyone who participated can expect something nice coming their way in return for all their efforts! It just so happens that a notable holiday is coming up, so perhaps in addition to goodies in your stockings, the Legendaries you helped out this month will have something special prepared to thank the many trainers that went out of their way to help them. ;)

What we can reveal right this second is this: you haven't just impressed the Legendary Pokemon of Johto and Kanto, you've also impressed the very people of the places you've saved! And that won't be something quickly forgotten.

This world has seen one or two near-apocalypses, but this time the locals really put their faith in you and you all rose to meet it with flying colors.

BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

In simple terms, depending on where your character helped out, they'll find that from now on, the people there will be very welcoming to them.

All of those that helped out in Ecruteak City will find that on any subsequent visits to the town, the citizens will be more than welcoming to them. Prepare to fend off starry-eyed Youngsters, countless discounts, and maybe even a few invitations into people's homes for supper. The people of Ecruteak are passionate about their history, and this was nothing if not a historic event that will be spoken of for generations to come.

Those that helped fight the good fight on the Whirl Islands will find that the stories of their courageous deeds will soon spread around the entire fishing and sailing community in both Johto and Kanto. It might not sound so impressive at first, but from now on, expect heavy discounts on any ferry trip you take or rod you purchase, and don't be surprised if elderly fishermen insist on showing you their very secret prime fishing locations. And if you haven't got a boat or surfing Pokemon to go there, also don't be surprised if they insist on loading you into their own boat and regaling you with tales of their life on the sea while they show you around.

As for the Aurora League, well, you guys were already sort of at celebrity status... but for at least a few weeks after the defeat of Necrozma, you can expect to be in the spotlight even more than usual! At the very least, EV News wants to hear ALL ABOUT THE ADVENTURE (and of course share that with the world), so have fun with that!

ANY OTHER AFTER-EFFECTS OF THE EVENT?

Oh yes. An event as big as this one is naturally going to leave its marks on both our little regions-- as such, we've updated both Kanto and Johto's info pages with changes your characters may notice from now on.

But for those who don't want to go searching, here's the big ones:

  • Ecruteak City sustahined a lot of damage during the battle with Necrozma'd Ho-Oh, and as such there will be consistent efforts in the coming months to rebuild buildings, house displaced people and Pokemon, and most importantly, restore the damaged Bell Tower! Characters can get involved with reconstruction efforts in exchange for lodging, meals, and a paycheck!
  • The Whirl Islands' topography has changed slightly-- the site of the battle against Necrozma'd Lugia is now permanently etched into the rock by way of an enormous blackened streak in the stone! In addition to being an impressive new landmark, some degree of charge even remains of Zapdos's legendary attack... those who train Magneton, Nosepass, or Charjabug may even find their Pokemon evolving if they level up while visiting!
  • Cerulean Cave is... finally open! ... Well, to members of the Aurora League, that is! But previously even they couldn't access it, so... wahoo! Not only that, but given the amount of it spent closed as well as the effects of the battles within, old maps of the interior are no longer accurate. Aurora Leaguers are officially invited to help bring the records up to date by exploring the area themselves!
  • Cinnabar Island has been the site of ongoing, constantly-changing-hands construction for what seems like forever-- but the unused space has finally been repurposed into a sanctuary for the castaway Ultra Beasts who currently don't have a way of getting home. Rest assured, many scientists (who are NOT affiliated with the Aether Foundation!) are looking into it-- but for now, they're here! The Ultra Beast Reserve is currently closed as construction finishes and the UBs settle in, but in the near future trainers will be able to stop by and visit their Ultra Buddies from time to time if they choose!

  • Remember how we put out a call for mod applications a while ago?

Well, we are very happy to finally announce that we've added more mods to our little team since then, and we've already been teaching them the ropes behind the scenes for a little while now... including having them hit the ground running with Daylight Saving!

That's right, this event was made possible in part by viewers like you by our new (bigger!) mod team!

Everyone say hello to the new mods!

    Head Mods

    Raile (It/Him)
    Terry (He/Him)

    Event Mod

    Ink (He/Him)

    List Mods

    Nick (He/Him)
    Everett (They/Them)
    Dees (She/Her)

Without their efforts, we would not have been able to pull off anything nearly as ambitious as Daylight Saving wound up being, and for that, we (Kit, Wolfy, and Elaine!) are so incredibly grateful for their hard work! Each new member has more than proven themselves more than worthy of their new responsibilities and they're all excited to help make Victory Road better and better.

Fear not, this isn't a complete turnover! The majority of your old mod team is still here and working just as hard, but more mods means faster and more consistent response times, as well as less stress (and hopefully a little more freedom for your senior mods to enjoy the game themselves!).

To reflect these changes, we've updated our mod contact page, which can be found here.

Last but not least, we'd love to hear feedback on the last few events (particularly seeing as they were all tied together!). We tried a lot of new things both creatively and mechanically, and would love to hear thoughts from you, the players, on how they worked out as well as how they could be tweaked to improve things in the future!

Please feel free to comment to the thread below with your thoughts, if you have any!
