Hi all. It's been a while since we did one of these, but we've got some big changes for how the game will be run coming out, so please read this post attentively and if any questions exist afterwards, feel free to ask 'em.

Howdy, Pokémon trainers! As you all know, 2022 is on its last legs, and a new challenger looms on the horizon. And as so often with a new year, there are some changes coming, and we'd like to take a moment to inform you all about these. So please, read this post carefully, and if any questions remain, please don't hesitate to ask them, and we'll get back to you ASAP.

As most of you all will undoubtedly know, Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released a bit over two weeks ago. In it, we were introduced to the Hisui region (Sinnoh, but old), a lot of fun new (but technically old) lore and even a bunch of new Pokemon!

But, you might wonder --especially if this is your first new game release while being in VR-- what this will mean for Victory Road and how we will be handling this new stuff. If so, gather around our virtual hearth and open your ears, because we certainly got some Info for you!

Hello Pokepals!

It's time to wrap up what turned out to be possibly the least contested poll in history. You all (literally all!) chose to go with option A for our new and improved activity check.

So, what does this mean for all of us now?

Well, starting November 1st, our activity check will consist of 10 comments from at least one thread. The type of threads you can use (comm threads, inbox, backtagged) remains the same. Taking a strike will now require you to pass regular AC for two months in a row before another strike or hiatus can be taken.

As we switch over to this new Activity System, we will also wipe the slate clean of any outstanding strikes people might now have. New system, new us! We will all start on the same footing.

We would like to add one final adjustment. As many of you may already know, traditionally December has been viewed as an AC-free month here in Victory Road. This means the Activity Check that starts on January first ends up being waived for everyone. Now, we definitely want to retain this! December is a busy and stressful enough month already. However, we do want to make one small adjustment -- for now on, any strike on a player's record will carry over past the AC-free December month. What this means is that if a player previously took a strike, and now needs to provide us with two months of regular AC, the waived AC month will not count towards one of those two months.

Or, as a little example, to hopefully make it completely clear -- say a player needs to take a strike on December first because November just ended up being Like That. They would now need to make regular AC for two months in a row. The waived AC on January first does not count, which means this player would need to supply us with full regular AC for the February first and March first AC checks.

Hopefully, this all makes sense, but if there are any questions, we are happy enough to answer them! All that rests us is to thank you all for making this decision rather easy and onto happy new AC tidings.

Hello all. A small update for you today.

First of all, the group excavating the fossil beds on the Sevii Islands have announced the find of a new fossil bed quite near to their current location. What's more exciting is that this bed seems to hold fossils that have never before been found in this particular region. Unfortunately, these fossils, which were first found in the Galar region, have up until now been found in such fractured states that it is impossible to tell exactly what the Pokemon they belong to once looked like, but Professor A. Grant of the KJ Excavation Society has expressed hopes that more information on these extinct Pokemon might be found right here on the Sevii Islands.

In more Sevii Island news, rumours have sprung up that a strange woman has moved into the old abandoned Rocket Base. Supposedly she's been telling young trainers to bring her fossils from the new fossil bed and she will revive them. Local Jennies have done a check of the base, but have found no trace of this individual. They urge trainers to be aware, as this might be a Team Rocket scam.

And speaking of rumours, over the past few days, trainers may have started noticing that a lot of rumours seem to be popping up. The one thing that all these rumours have in common is they all involve pokemon going completely wild and berserk. In all fairness, many of these rumours seem completely unbelievable or quickly proven wrong ("I heard during that Bruno's pokemon went completely insane during the last match and that it took all the other Elite 4 Pokemon to stop them.") or simple cases of young trainers trying to command pokemon that are just a tad too strong for them ("Yeah, I heard Billy got bit by the Skiploom he got from his uncle. Thank Arceus they don't really have teeth!") but it does seem a bit strange that there are so many of these rumours popping up all at once...
