Fasten your seatbelts, because it is (almost) time for yet another Victory Road Fourth Wall!



From Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th, Victory Road will once against be breaching its containment walls, dragging friend and foe alike into a maelstrom of weirdness and pokemon shenanigans. For three days, the regions of Johto and Kanto will be saying goodbye to the laws of physics and common sense, and instead be ruled by the capricious whims of, well, whoever it is that causes these weird weekends to happen. We don't know who it is. Do you?

In any case, during this weekend, not only your characters will be dealing with a heap of nonsense, but people from outside the game can also take a little stab at having some pokemon fun. In this info post, we will have a little Fourth Wall glossary for anyone who hasn't experienced one of these weekends before, but as is so common with these weekends, there will also be a little special going on this time. So, there also be a separate FAQ to answer your questions regarding that.

From Friday the 21st to Sunday the 23rd, Victory Road will be welcoming all passing travellers, old friends and new acquaintances. You might have thought you were going to get a relaxing, calm weekend, but nope! You are now in the pokemon world and boy is it whacky! So check your responsibilities at the door, put on your trainer cap and come and have fun.

Oh, and try not to get stepped on by a giant Bidoof. Or trip over the miniscule Ekans. Or... wait, are Beedrill supposed to be that size?!


Right, we should probably mention we asked the PokeAni animators to illustrate this month's Fourth Wall, and, uh, it seems the pokemon sizes have gotten a little mixed up? Just a tiny bit? Whatever, it's probably fine right-- Oh god, don't step on that very tiny Arceus!!

Hello there, trainers and breeders, (and our rockets, of course), it is once against time for another Fourth Wall! From June 26th to June 28th, the laws of physics and logic (already rather shaky at best in the pokemon world) will get just that extra wibbly-wobbly, as Nephelis uses its power to help bring in a whole load of new friends to play with all at once.

For those who have never had the chance to experience a Fourth Wall, to keep things short: things are going to get a little wacky this weekend. Or perhaps a lot wacky. Many of the restrictions that keep Victory Road chugging along throughout most of the year are temporarily lifted. Which means all of those nice and awesome powers you've been forced to be without? They are back! That horrendous human flesh puppet that you've been forced into? Please enjoy three days of having your own normal form back.

But that's not all!

Remember all those items that have mysteriously gone missing over the last week? As it turns out, they didn't just go missing as so many lost left socks, they were stolen by a dastardly band of tiny, furry criminals!

Team Rocket? No. Worse.


Team Nickit!



Well, all right, they are not exactly a team. But there has been a band of furry little miscreants running around the past week, stealing everything that wasn't nailed down (and perhaps even a few things that were). Throughout the weekend, characters should be able to see them everywhere, still up to their dastardly little tricks. And if your character chooses to follow them, they will eventually be led to a large cave. Funny. You can't quite remember ever seeing this cave before. Or can even figure out exactly where it goes on the map, but if your character is brave enough to venture inside they will find a gigantic pile of stuff. And on top of that giant pile of stuff will be a massive Thievul, guarding his stash with all the ferocity of a dragon!

(You see, it is actually his birthday this weekend, and all the little Nickits have been doing is finding gifts to please him. Too bad Nickits firmly believe that possession is, in fact, ten-tenths of the law.)

So, if you want your stuff back (and it is all in there, every last little thing that they stole from you over the last week), you best prepare to fight the Thievul and his minions for your things. Or maybe you can sneak it out of the pile while they aren't looking. Or perhaps you can interest them in a trade?

Either way, if you manage to get your hands on that giant pile of things, a quick dig into it will reveal that the Nickits haven't been limiting their dastardly deeds to this world. With reality as wobbly as it is right now, somehow the little fiends have figured out how to steal things from other worlds as well! Who knows, you might just find something from your own homeworld in there too.

A little while ago, we asked for your help in determining when the next Fourth Wall should be held. By now we think we've gotten just about everybody's responses, so we wanted to let you in on the results.

The overwhelming majority of you voted for having a Fourth Wall, just a bit delayed.

The overwhelming majority of you also voted for having this Fourth Wall in January.

So, there you have it. Our next Fourth Wall weekend will occur during the last weekend of January 2020. We wanted to thank you all for filling in our little poll.

Hey there, Johto! It’s time for another of our twice-yearly Fourth Wall Events! The event will start on May 24th, and last until May 26th!

The usual rules from previous fourth walls will be carrying over here, and the gist of the event is that STUFF’S GETTING WEIRD AROUND HERE. Johto and Kanto will both be subject to a lot of unfamiliar new visitors from across multiple different universes as Nephelis rounds them up to come and play, and each will be given a Pokemon! Even better, the normal restrictions on everyone’s bodies or powers will be lifted. Anything goes for the weekend!

And, as usual, there's a brand new Optional Gimmick (tm) for this go-round...



If you want, your character may become a Pokemon themselves! And since this is all going on Fourth Wall event logic, there's no set way for this to go, either. It can happen in whatever way you feel would be the most fun for you to play around with! Would you like them to be able to communicate fully with humans like the anime’s Meowth, be limited to Pokemon name-speak, or only be able to communicate with certain people like Detective Pikachu? Would you like them to spend the whole time as a Pokemon or only part of the time? Pick whatever option works best for you!

We do ask that transformations and descriptions of such be appropriate to the game's tone--they don’t have to have an instantaneous change in a cloud of sparkles, but this isn’t Ryslig either.

Incoming guest characters may also arrive as a Pokemon or be changed into one partway through!

A mod-hosted mingle will go up at midnight, which will act as a bit of a catch-all for general fourth wall threads from both new and old characters. Players can make their own logs and network posts if they don’t want to use the catch-all and guests are more than welcome to hit up those as well!

FOURTH WALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Yes, it’s that time of year again…time for the semi-annual Fourth Wall Event, which will be taking place beginning Friday the 26th at midnight, lasting until 11:59 PM on Sunday the 28th! The usual rules from previous fourth walls will be carrying over here, and then gist of the event is that STUFF’S GETTING WEIRD AROUND HERE. Nephelis has been imprisoned for ages, and that holiday bonanza wasn’t enough for it to properly stretch its legs! And who doesn’t love a little space-time-universe warping fun now and again? Nephilis sure loves it, so that’s what you’re all getting. Johto and Kanto will both be subject to a lot of unfamiliar new visitors from across multiple different universes as Nephilis brings them to join the celebration, and each will be given a Pokemon! Even better, the normal restrictions on everyone’s bodies or powers will be lifted. Anything goes for the weekend!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL…



See, normally memories are not only jumbled after the event ends, but any kind of recordings are also wiped out. But this time? Nephilis wants everyone to have an extra reminder of all the fun they've had! At the stroke of midnight, when the usual crack of light and the changeover occurs, everyone will also find themselves holding a basic disposable camera. They can do whatever they like with it: take snapshots of pokemon, friends, toss it out the window, whatever they want! But any photos they take (up to 20) will survive the event. Take it into any Pokemart to have the film developed afterwards, and for an extra 25p, get your pictures rated by the Professor Oak Simulator! You get points! (the points mean nothing, feel free to make them up yourselves). The photos might look a little grainy with that...not so great 90's kodak quality, and somehow even the innocuous ones look a little unsettling? But they'll be a nice (or not so nice) reminder of what happened over the weekend.
