IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN FOLKS
Happy fall, Johto! It’s time for this year’s second Fourth Wall Event! The wacky weekend will start on November 24th, and last until November 26th!
The usual rules from previous fourth walls will be carrying over here, and the gist of the event is that STUFF’S GETTING WEIRD AROUND HERE. Johto and Kanto will both be subject to a lot of unfamiliar new visitors from across multiple different universes as Nephilis rounds them up to come and play, and each will be given a Pokemon! Even better, the normal restrictions on everyone’s bodies or powers will be lifted. Anything goes for the weekend!
A mod-hosted mingle will go up at midnight, which will act as a bit of a catch-all for general fourth wall threads from both new and old characters. Players can make their own logs and network posts if they don’t want to use the catch-all and guests are more than welcome to hit up those as well!
BUT WAIT...there’s more! In honor of the new games, this Fourth Wall will be visited by a swarm with a surprise! For the length of the weekend, there will be a large number of Rotom zapping in and out of electronics, especially PokeGears. They won’t be too interested in sticking around after the weekend ends, given that these aren’t the right sort of Pokedexes to hold them properly, but they will provide sassy companionship as long as anyone will put up with them! And if anyone happens to be very nice to one, they’ll give them a small parting gift! All characters who are friendly towards a Rotom possessing their 'Gear will get to play a round of the Roto Loto...and keep their small reward!
These characters will awaken on Monday with their Loto gift loaded into their ‘Gear, and it will be useable once, for if your character is really impatient and wants that egg to hatch just a day or two early, has been hunting a rare Pokemon for a week and just can’t find it, or has a lot of Christmas presents to buy and could really use that discount. As for what they’ll get, there will be a mod run Roto Loto RNG on the log to comment to and see what happens!

What is a Fourth Wall Event?
A Fourth Wall event is an in-game event where people from other games, random characters, even players themselves, just randomly interact with your characters. It's a literal breaking of that invisible "fourth wall" that separates the game-verse from... the rest of the internet. It’s meant to be a silly and fun time thought all kinds of CR can take place during it.
How do you participate?
In short, a character makes a post in the comm or a top-level in the mod-posted catch-all and others tag it. Feel free to just tag around if you don’t want to start a thread of your own. You do not have to stick to your in-game character accounts during this event; you can use characters from other games, crack accounts, player accounts, etc to play!
What kind of characters can participate?
Anything and everything, from AU’s to characters from other DW games, ponies, disembodied heads, zombies, Arceus with a saddle, the players, Hello Kitty, and the list goes on...
What about characters coming in, can they have a Pokémon too?
Sure thing! You can bring in any Pokémon from any generation and challenge whoever you want for however much you want. Feel free to knock down or burn down anything. Ride Arceus into battle wearing nothing but a pineapple on your head. It's all good!
Current players are also allowed to have whatever else they want in their party, but all Legendaries will depart after the weekend is over. No keeping the Groudon that followed you home!
Can my character catch Pokémon to KEEP during the event?
Yes, they may! Feel free to saddle your character with some odd Pokémon they weren't expecting to have like a surprise Magikarp appearing inside their backpack.
There are some exceptions-- Pokemon not listed on the availability pages (Johto, Kanto, Sevii) cannot be kept after the event. For example, your character may encounter a wild Chansey in Lavender Town and keep their new friend, but you would not be able to catch and keep Articuno.
Characters also may not keep Pokemon that were given to them by visiting characters-- feel free to get vague and wibbly-wobbly about how a shockingly similar wild Pokemon (as long as it's on the Availability List!) wound up in your character's possession, but nothing that a visiting character gifts to a resident one will stick around once the weekend is over.
We’re also trusting that players will keep this reasonable, and stick to just one or two Pokemon to keep after the event.
Would my non-human character remain in their VR form for the event? What about powers?
Up to you! Your character can return to their original form, powers intact, or whatever you like! Have fun.
What about the environment?
With all the strange things going on, feel free to have your characters experience anomalies while they are traveling. Routes that took days to travel before can now be crossed in minutes. Characters can suddenly find themselves waking up in a different city altogether! The landscape around them may warp and change to reflect various other canons. If your character is far from where they started out when the event ends, feel free to have them remain there!
Can my character keep items they find during the Fourth Wall?
If this item is normally easily obtainable in the world of the game, like a Pokeball from the store or some choice rare berries, then yes. The exception to this is that we don’t want people keeping rare items or TMs.
Items like a new house that didn’t previously exist on their street, twenty Masterballs, a car, or piles of rubies that appeared during the event can not be kept. This includes items they may have had access to using their abilities or interacting with the warping environment, or any items from home they didn’t already have with them. They will all disappear at the end of the event!
Will my character remember the event once it’s over? What about previous Fourth Wall events?
It is up to you if your character’s memory suddenly becomes clear and they remember previous Fourth Walls during the span of the event.
Once the event ends, your characters’ memories will be somewhat fractured and mixed up. Recalling the events of the weekend will feel like recalling an especially vivid dream, but they are honest to goodness memories. If you need a number for reference, figure that a character can remember about 80% of what happens during this three-day period.
What happened to those three days our characters mysteriously lost?
There's still no explanation for that one. The Professors won't even be reachable for a few days; don't expect them to answer your calls. To make it worse, you may not be where you were last...
Does this count for the activity check?
Fourth wall threads and posts carried out by characters who are current residents of VR are fair game for AC. Fourth-wallers and AU versions of a character currently in VR (for example, the same character played as from a different canonpoint, etc) do not count towards AC, even when played by the same player.
What if I just arrived and haven't made an in-character introduction post yet?
Feel free to arrive in the middle of the event! Your character will probably just be that much more confused. You may also hold off until after the event if you wish, in order to not become lost in the confusion.
What if I don't want to participate?
Fourth Wall is not a required event. However, it does affect the game's setting, so logging would have to be backdated or forward-dated to before or after the fourth wall. If you choose not to participate, your character may enter a glitch or be asleep during the event. They will still lose three days’ time and be disoriented like everyone else.

So I've talked about the shenanigans I have planned on plurk but I don't have everyone there so let's chat here!
Newt's going to have his suitcase menagerie and his magic back for the weekend! My starter post for him will basically be "You found this odd suitcase with..a staircase inside?!" and I'll go from there. I'll have an information post with everything found in his suitcase listed for easy access and prompt ideas! You may also spy a few small Legendaries wandering around inside his case checking out the new arrivals because it's 4th Wall and that's how we roll! (Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, Shaymin and Manaphy in particular will be wandering about.)
Noctis is going to be itty bitty for the weekend! I'm reverting him back to a smol child with no memories of this place but he's going to be totally okay with his group of giant Pokemon taking care of him! (Bean the Snorlax, Kitty the Tyrannitar, Crowe the Tyrantrum, Amicitia the Bewear, Carbuncle the Espeon and Shepard the Lycanroc are going to be protecting the little prince all weekend. c: )
Cissnei is going to be strictly interacting with other people so she won't have a top level of her own.
Vanitas is going to have his powers back which means he can summon Unversed again. Mahagony town is going to be overrun with all of his children and he's basically just going to take over the town for the weekend and cause some mischief.

Armin, I'm still trying to finalise a bit. He's definitely going to tagging around a bit. I've got a few plans lined up with him already. Additionally, he might end up getting a visit from an old kettle-stealing friend and getting a gift! I'm not certain yet if I will top-level with him because for once I actually have other characters I am thinking of bringing to a fourth wall!!
One is going to be Porco Galliard from late late late manga Attack on Titan. He is grouchy, he is grumpy, and fuck wouldn't you be if you had a name like Porco. Probably going to be accompanied by a Tyrunt and a Tepig/Pignite. I'm not certain yet if I will toss up a top post for him. I might just stick to tagging around. Definitely will be hitting up a few canonmates, but other than that, I'm going to go where the grumpy wind will take me. If anyone else might be interested, let me know!
The other character I will bring in is Honerva from Voltron: Legendary Defender. She is an Altean scientist/alchemist whose quest for knowledge and understanding sort of ended up screwing over everyone! Very much an all risks are justifiable for the pursuit of knowledge and an 'ethics board, what ethics board' sort of scientist. I'm considering perhaps apping her in the new year (she'd definitely be a rocket) so also consider this voice-testing for that! She'll probably have a Purrloin and perhaps one other Pokemon. Type: null would be highly interesting to her, so if someone has one of those on them, she might ask them about them. She'll probably have a top level.

CHINCHILL'S NERDS
Ash is having his powers back, nothing special. Except that his dad, Oisin Fox is gonna be in town! He will mostly be hanging out with his son and meeting all of Ash's friends. Ash will be shouting about it to everyone who knows him cos he's so happy and excited to have his Dad here.
Oisin's an Irish selkie and a powerful illusion wizard for those who want to meet him but don't have much CR with Ash! He'll be accompanied by Meara the Sealeo and Kinnagoe, who is actually Ash's Zoroark but decides that Oisin is who he's sticking with when he's around.
Walter returns to his current form in Silent Hill 4; that is, there's his corpse (tucked away in his house), his ghostly adult self and his innocent child self. The adult form will be wandering between the Otherworld he's created over previous 4th Walls and the Distortion World, and bringing back a new...friend, of sorts, when the weekend ends.
His child self will be around Johto and has...fractured memories; he doesn't know what he will do or what will happen in his future, but he remembers previous fourth walls and has some of Walter's knowledge of Johto. He will be heavily protected by some of Walter's pokemon, so it's best not to approach him recklessly.

Ivy gets her powers back! She's going to be giving Ilex Forest a serious expansion in all directions. Azalea Town is going to be completely overrun with greenery. Sentient greenery. It shouldn't do anything to you... Unless you try to do something to it.
As for people I'm bringing in, aside from Gaia there's only going to be one other. Rolf Scamander is going to be arriving and swiftly be pounced upon by a Type: Null, who's trying to stop all these creatures from other universes. Which Rolf is just going to find totally endearing. He has all his magic too of course, so let him meet your Pokemon!
