milkisgrossHey everyone! I'm just popping in to let you know that I'm finally settled in my new place and able to come back from my hiatus!
Just a heads up, I am now in a very different timezone (GMT +9/Japan Standard Time). I will mostly be available on the weekends only due to work, but there will be some weekdays I can be active here and there.
Also, to people who have threaded with me before I went on hiatus, I will backtag into forever if you want. Just let me know if you want to continue threads or if you'd prefer to handwave stuff.
I'm super excited to be back and looking forward to more shenanigans~

Hello! I'm Bones, bringing in Joseph Joestar from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. He's coming from the end of Part 2, so he's 19 years old and also it was 1938 when he left home. He's not going to be overly confused by the new technology, since he was already a trendsetter in that regard, but it will be a learning curve.
(He does have a permissions post that also includes some content warnings, and some info about his pseudo-mind-reading ability. He's just Sherlock levels of observant.)

milkisgrossFirst of all, I want to apologize for being absent. While RP has been a great de-stresser, I'm afraid I haven't been in the right space for tagging lately.
Second, I'M MOVING! TO JAPAN! I got a job to teach English and I fly out tomorrow! I'm going to need some time to move, settle in, and get used to things, hence the hiatus. If I can do any tags during the time I allotted for this, I will, but I'm expecting training, jet-lag, culture-shock, and getting settled to be pretty intense.

It's been some time since the last contest, but hosts Riegfried and Soy are finally back! Through the first half of March, characters will be able to catch video and audio announcements advertising their next contest and encouraging all trainers to enter.
The duo are in particularly fine form this month, and are rotating their outfits and props for every single announcement. There’s only one commonality between all these switches - they’re clearly alternating between matching each other’s looks or having exact opposite vibes. Wonder what the theme could be this time…?

tempredmentalSo, Keith got an interesting fortune from the Snorunts this year. Basically, things he's looking for are getting swapped around with others... things he wants to buy, things he already owns that he was going to grab for whatever reason... even his Pokémon.
His Pokémon, though, are only getting swapped with other otherworlder's Pokémon. But, for his first swap of the month, once they figure out whose is whose and swap them back, both Pokémon have mysteriously learned a new TM move.
SO! What that means is that we can have fun and I can swap with as many people as who want to swap, but one random swapper can have the chance at being the "first one" of this bout of luck. Therefore, if you'd like to have your character's Pokémon have a chance at randomly learning a brand new TM that they didn't know before (and are capable of learning), I will give everyone who signs up by next week a number (unless you indicate that you want to opt out), and then pull one from the RNG to see who ended up getting to be Keith's first swap in order to make this fair. For the sake of my sanity, please keep it to one character per player.
Reply to this post saying if you'd like to sign up, and I will number everyone in the order they commented. Then, next Thursday, I will RNG a "first swap" and let you all know who got it. I'm cool with threading them out on my top level post that will be posted either tonight or tomorrow, or we can handwave the interaction. I'm cool with either!
There will be other swap options, too, if you want a possession of yours to get swapped with one of Keith's or something else like that which isn't a Pokémon.

Mod Announcements: Game Direction Poll

Unfortunately, a lot of the pages are reliant on each other in such a way that we can't update them separately - we're going to have to replace almost all the pages at once. (For the curious, most of what’s remaining is related to breeding and Breeders!)
With that said: we're at a bit of a turning point here, where we need to decide just how much we want to be reworking things! The people this is going to most affect is you, the players - so that means it's time for a poll.
We're not collecting emails/names, you are very welcome to answer this anonymously. In addition, we want this poll and particularly the first question to be open to people who are not currently in the game, but might be interested in joining/returning. (Whether that's in general, or only if specific changes are made to the game!) We'll be plurking this with that in mind - please do share this around to your friends!

Swinub Scurry Results

Blackthorn City has a lot of cleanup to do after all of that, but the city and race officials are very happy with the event's reception; they hope everyone will be back for the next race, two years from now.

Swinub Scurry Info

What's happening?
The Swinub Scurry is a tradition in Blackthorn City! Every other Winter, trainers bring their hardiest Pokemon and compete in a sled race through the wilderness surrounding Blackthorn. The race length is such that trainers will need to spend one to two nights in the Winter wilderness, managing survival, navigation, and wild Pokemon much stronger than those found on the normal routes.
There's some extra prestige in winning, but most participants are celebrated for just finishing the course. The foremost rule of the Swinub Scurry is that the race stays "open" until everyone has either made it to the end or given up or needed a rescue. There are always people at the finish line ready to cheer racers arriving, day and night (taking shifts if they need to)!
This beloved tradition has been out of the spotlight in recent years, with local organizers getting snooty about trainers without influential family roots in Blackthorn participating. In the past, petty local politics and old money have done a poor job of advertising the event, even though it was ostensibly tourist friendly. Now, the old guard is on its way out, and this year the organizing committee is looking to change things up! Trainers will see fliers in towns across Johto and Kanto inviting them to this seasonal event!
