May 2020 Contest Voting!
The deadline for Contest Spectacular entries has passed, which means it's time. Time toooo...
VOTE!
As a reminder, all voting is OOC, not IC! If anyone needs a refresher on the details, the main infopost is here. And, for ease of checking, here are our contestants by category and links to their acts:
How will the winners be determined?
The fun thing about these contests is that you get to decide who wins -- that is to say, every player gets a chance to vote for who they consider best in show. To prevent possible issues with tied votes happening, we ask every player to supply us with their personal top three. Each rank has a point value, which we will then use to calculate who has the most points overall, and therefore who is the winner.
As this contest will be decided by the players, it ultimately just comes down to voting for whatever you liked the most. However, a couple of things should be taken into account while casting your votes:
- How well do the costumes match the act?
- How well do the costumes and act combined match the theme?
But ultimately, the most important thing of all is whether or not you felt the entry was creative and fun to read!
In addition, we have our little surprise category. Here we ask people to look at only one particular attribute and give us their opinion on who embodied that attribute the best. Mind you, they don't have to be the very best. In fact, you could even think they are the weakest act overall, but we are only asking for that particular attribute. For this contest, the special attribute we have chosen is humour. So please let us know which one of the contestants tickled your funny bone the best (intended or unintended).
Lastly, people who have entered in the contest are also allowed to vote. The only thing we ask is to be a good sport and not vote yourself in first. We realise we cannot check this behaviour without also removing the anonymous element of the voting (which we'd rather retain to allow people to give their honest, true thoughts) so we are just going to have to depend on All Of You All Being Good.
The prizes for this contest will be revealed after the voting is in! The vote will end Tuesday, May 26th, 11:59 PM EST!
