Reveal Glass Plot Info
Legends tells of a mirror that doesn’t just show you your reflection, but instead shows you your true form. It reveals hidden depths, it uncovers lies. And in some cases, it causes certain pokemon to grow arms and legs.
Anyway, we are shattering it.
Welcoming to our Reveal Glass Plot!
What exactly is happening?
For reasons you do not yet need to know exactly, the Reveal Glass, the item that allows pokemon like Tornadus and Landorus to change forms, will be broken. The broken shards of glass will get scattered across Johto and Kanto and find their way into the hearts of various people. And you all know that when we say various people, we really just mean your characters, because Arceus loves (or hates?) you.
What will happen to my character after being struck by a mirror shard?
A character who holds a shard of reveal glass in their heart will be transported to a strange mirror realm the first time they look into any reflective surface or mirror.
While in this mirror dimension, your character will be forced by the shard of mirror to assume their true form – essentially, if your character has a side of themselves that they do not normally show, a part of themselves that they ordinarily refuse to acknowledge or a secret they have not told anyone, in this place, all of these things will be laid bare.
Think of it as a Persona 4 shadow (if you are familiar with that particular game) or even an enforced Zone of Truth.
And while in this ‘true’ form, other characters can interact with your character to try and help them accept those hidden parts of themselves, or share the secrets they’ve thus far been holding onto.
Then, and only then, will the shard of mirror be removed from your character’s heart. After all, once you’ve acknowledged your hidden sides and spoken aloud your secrets, you don’t need a reveal glass anymore to show the truth.
Interesting. What will this Mirror Dimension look like exactly?
That will be entirely up to you. The same goes for your character’s appearance in this ‘true form’.
The Mirror Dimension your character finds themselves in reflects the secrets or sides they are trying to keep hidden. The same goes for how your character will look. Feel free to get as creative with it as you’d like.
For example, if your character’s hidden side is a certain, very childish fear, they may actually appear childlike to the people that are trying to help them. Similarly, if they hold a particular secret, your character’s body or environment might display in such a way to reveal this secret. A character who is hiding a murder in their past, might appear with bloodstained hands. Additionally, characters in the Mirror Dimension but not hiding anything may simply look as they normally would, if the game has them turned human. That also falls under the concept of a ‘true form,’ after all! Maintaining their human appearance is also an option.
This is also why we are giving you all of this plot information a little early! We know you guys are going to need a bit of time to digest and really think about, not only what secret sides of your character you might want to explore, but also how you want to display those secrets.
Interesting, interesting. Can my character only hold one secret, or–
Listen, we all know your characters are just miserable piles of secrets and anxieties. So we are definitely not limiting you to one specific secret or hidden side. You are absolutely free to give people several different options to interact with. Or to create different scenarios for different individuals to deal with.
Does my character have to be hit by a shard of mirror?
Engaging with this plot is entirely optional.
If you do not feel your character has any interesting secrets to deal with in this way, (or perhaps they’ve already dealt with their hidden sides in previous plots or through good old traditional communication), you are free to only have them enter the mirror dimension to help others.
If this whole plot doesn’t interest you, you can completely opt out and not interact with it!
Can my character both be hit by a shard but also help someone accept their true self?
Yes, absolutely. Time within the mirror dimension is very wobbly. Feel free to engage in as many threads, on both sides, as your schedule can support!
I really want to interact with this but my character is lost in the woods right now. What do?
Basically, we are going to be very generous interpreting reflective surfaces here. Obviously, looking into a mirror would be the easiest way of getting trapped in the Mirror Dimension, but anything that will even vaguely show your character their own reflection will work. They could catch sight of themselves in the screen of their gear, or in a puddle of water. They can even catch their own reflection in the eyes of a pokemon.
Basically, if you want to play with this plot, you can. No matter where you are.
Similarly, because the Mirror Dimension is not really a fixed location, so much as a meta-physical representation inside your character’s heart, characters from all over Johto and Kanto can interact in this plot even if they separated by hundreds of miles.
How will my non-shard-struck character be able to enter the Mirror dimension to help others?
The same way the people hit by a shard will -- by looking into a mirror or any other reflective surface. Lets just say the magic of the Reveal Glass (even while broken) knows who can help someone face their innermost secrets.
When will this be happening?
This plot will take place on February 29th!
By the end of the 29th, as people accept their hidden sides and the shards are removed from hearts everywhere, things will go back to normal again.
We realise that it is absolutely impossible to wrap up a RP thread of this kind of magnitude within one day, but we also do not want to keep the game on pause while this all shakes out, so we won’t have any check in or thread counts for this plot. We will simply believe with our whole hearts that you guys are going to solve this.
(Of course, because many people will be busy with this plot, we will be keeping March very light in terms of events. Which is also helpful as we will definitely be working behind the scenes already to get our yearly disaster– we mean Prom ready to go.)
There is something else I’d like to ask!
Feel free! That’s what this post is for. If you put your question down below, we’ll try and get to it ASAP, so you can get plotting for your character.

Questions
Re: Questions
Should the mirror dimension world still functionally be the Pokemon world? In terms of geography, people, flora/fauna, etc. Or are we free to do whatever kind of mindscape environment we want? For example, have the mirror dimension look like our characters' home worlds.
