Scavenger Hunt End!
September's arrived and the intense heat of summer is slowly slipping away-- Some Pokemon trainers roam all year round, but for many folks, it's time to bring their summer adventures to a close and head back to more familiar stomping grounds.
As the sixth rolls around, some people might have even forgotten about the stickerbooks they received back in June... but not Nephelis!
In the wee hours of the night, Nephelis' signature aurora sweeps across the sky. Even the nightowls who might normally be awake at such a time will find themselves naturally nodding off. And once everyone's asleep...
Wherever their stickerbook might be, whether it's tucked in a bag or plopped on a hotel bedstand, a starry, ethereal paw will gently bat it onto the ground where it can be perused.
And depending on what it finds in there... the owner of the book will awaken in the morning to find a small, clumsily-wrapped parcel laying atop it that, regardless of the contents, smells vaguely like ozone.
A small piece of parchment stuck to the top bears a sparkly, dusky-red pawprint and reads...
HELLO, REMARKABLE HUMAN !

- YOUR FRIEND AND OWN LEGENDARY NEPHELIS
SCAVENGER HUNT END INFO
FIRST OFF, WHAT'S IN THE PACKAGES?
That depends on you!
No matter what, each participant will find two items within, though the items will differ depending on how many "human cryptids" they found during the scavenger hunt. Each “tier” will have an automatic prize and then several options, out of which you can choose one. The tiers are:
These items are chosen oocly, not ICly, although you may assume that Nephelis would try not to give anybody something they'd totally hate! Also, as usual, all items from home must follow the existing rules: no pets, weapons, or vehicles, and all magical items will be stripped of powers.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO OOCLY TO CLAIM THE PRIZES?
Just comment below with the following information: your character's name, their location on September 6th (approximate is fine), the number of "human cryptids" they found and "proofs" of each finding (either a link to a thread/post playing it out OR a brief summary), and of course the rewards being claimed! If you need a refresher on who and where all these people were, hop over to the original Scavenger Hunt post for a list!
Feel free to use the form below, and see here for an example of how it might look filled out!
NICE. SO, WHAT DOES THE PACKAGE LOOK LIKE?
It's wrapped in some truly lovely shiny, dark-blue wrapping paper with colorful glitter swirls reminiscent of sprawling galaxies, and bound with a silky white ribbon.
AW. DID HE MAKE THE WRAPPING PAPER HIMSELF?
Actually, this wrapping paper is sold in the little gift shop on top of Mt. Moon, and the shopkeeper nearly had a heart attack when a tall shadowy figure in a huge trenchcoat and face-obscuring hat stepped into the shop just before close and said "HELLO ! I AM A HUMAN ! I WISH TO BUY THIS DECORATIVE PACKAGING MATERIAL ! PLEASE ACCEPT THIS HUMBLE PAYMENT !"
... DID HE HAVE MONEY?
Only Stardust, but it turns out that stuff is worth a lot of money in shops!
CAN MY CHARACTER WAKE UP AND WITNESS NEPHELIS PAWING THROUGH THEIR BOOK?
No, but if you earned the "16-18" tier of reward and would like to give him a pat on the head, he will wake them up! ... Gently.
WHAT IF MY CHARACTER IS ON THE ROAD AND HAS SIX POKEMON IN THEIR PARTY ALREADY? CAN THEY STILL RECEIVE AN EGG?
Because these are very special eggs gifted by the patron deity of the otherworldly itself, your character may carry the egg with them for awhile until they can free up a party slot. The egg won't hatch until they do!
WHAT IF MY CHARACTER GETS AN EGG BUT PLANS TO STAY IN THE WILDERNESS FOREVER AS A WILDMAN, NEVER TO RETURN?
Please come back to civilization eventually!!
I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS!
Feel free to ask them here!

No matter what, each participant will find two items within, though the items will differ depending on how many "human cryptids" they found during the scavenger hunt. Each “tier” will have an automatic prize and then several options, out of which you can choose one. The tiers are:
1 to 3 people found: A pair of Wise Glasses and your choice between: a photograph of someone/a location from home, a Pokemon egg of choice with ONE egg move, OR an extra sheet of magical stickers that will never run out. 4 to 9 people found: A pair of Choice Specs and your choice between an item from home that could fit in a pocket, a Pokemon egg of choice with THREE egg moves, OR a SNACK bar will innocuously and unobtrusively appear in hand’s reach whenever you’re craving a snack on the road and there’s nothing else around. 10 to 15 people found: A Wide Lens and your choice between: an item from home UP TO the size of a sack of flour, a Hidden Ability candy, OR a region map with pawprints over Nephelis’ favorite out-of-the-way locations to visit (which we will elaborate on if chosen). 16 to 18 people found: A Zoom Lens and your choice between: an item from home UP TO the size of a sofa, a shiny Pokemon egg, OR the opportunity to give Nephelis a pat on the head (which we will describe/thread).
These items are chosen oocly, not ICly, although you may assume that Nephelis would try not to give anybody something they'd totally hate! Also, as usual, all items from home must follow the existing rules: no pets, weapons, or vehicles, and all magical items will be stripped of powers.

SAMPLE PROOF COMMENT
Current Location: Snuggled up in his cozy hotel room bed in Lavender Town.
Number of "Cryptids" Found: 3
Reward(s) Claimed: Wise Glasses and a photo of all his friends from home!
PROOFS:
2. Jingles the Mime from Saffron City! Summary: Barney encountered Jingles unexpectedly while shopping in downtown Saffron, but instead of getting scared, he helped participate in an entertaining skit that showed passersby that mimes are our friends! Jingles was so happy that he taught Barney how to descend an invisible staircase, and also gave him one of those wiggly wire "invisible dog" leashes.
3. The Sleeping Man from Viridian City! Link to a post where Barney accidentally steps on the Sleeping Man's leg and apologizes profusely, but has to hurriedly cover a nearby child's ears when the old coot starts using some language that definitely isn't allowed on PBS.

Number of "Cryptids" Found: 14
Reward(s) Claimed: A Wide Lens and This photograph
PROOFS:
1. Goldenrod City: Meeting up with Sasha, the two of them managed to track down the Gold Lady thanks to Sasha's Meowth. Apparently the cat pokemon are attracted to the gold the lady wears all the time. Alex figures that's a really poor choice of wardrobe but what does she know about fashion? Is what the Gold Lady said to her. Alex didn't really care after all, she's not the person getting stalked by cat pokemon, now is she. (Unfinished thread)
2. Ecruteak City: It didn't really take Alex long to find the EPIC BOTTLE FLIP KID. You just had to locate the only kid still flipping bottles. She was not disappointed and was a willing audience for longer then most people around her. Still eventually she had to give up watching. Put a sticker in her book and then go back to the inn and fail a few times at trying to flip bottles herself. She tried.
3. Mahogany Town: Fellow teenage girl! Alex loves climbing things that should not be climbed and jumping things that should not be jumped, so it's honestly more a miracle she survived the ice path rather then finding Frostine. Which she did! Without breaking anything! They talked about ice types and how Alex should actually get one. Alex joked she'd probably find a ghost/ice type and then decided not to jinx herself anymore.
4. Blackthorn City: An old lady who lives by herself in an isolated area, immediately made Alex think of the woman she'd never met but heard so much about back home, Maggie Adler. Luckily this woman wasn't quite as impossible to find as she was still alive. Still took a day or to of climbing, hiking and actually asking around. When she did locate Oakie Brown, she ended up having a talk to her about the merits of living out by yourself in one location vs travelling around. Also living in one with nature. Alex apparently fidgets with her radio too much to live in one with nature, something she didn't even realize she did, so .....educational? Let's go with that. Alex left soon after that, claiming she had to .....go and she'd keep that in mind.
5. New Bark Town: Well finding Mom wasn't the hard part. After all the woman stays in one place, the hard part was trying to figure out if she left the house ever or if she should just knock and say hey. Because that's awkward and hey still not your kid, but looking you up for a sticker seemed kind of rude. In the end she knocked and ended up having an awkward. Hey just in town, can't stay but wow, nice to see you again, conversation before setting off again. Why are all of these awkward?
6. Cherrygrove City: Finally a normal person. The normal person being a child named Skippy who ...skips rocks. So, you know maybe NORMAL isn't the right word. Still she managed to locate him and also managed to skip a few rocks pretty well. She's.....had a lot of practise. Even if you know, she only remembers parts of it. Still, skipping rocks with a kid on a sunny afternoon was a nice way to spend the day. She only had to stop Vlad once from trying to make off with the rocks. So pretty good!
7. Violet City: Okay so the Monk, another weird one. Mostly because he won't stop talking about elemental monkeys and monkey type pokemon. She tried to get away and for once wished she was actually a ghost/spirit whatever because being able to vanish would be nice. In the end she had to set her ghost pokemon and the others in the group of six she had with her on the Monk because apparently you had to battle him to get away? She lost, that was probably a given. But on the plus side, she didn't have to hear about monkey pokemon anymore. And she got a sticker. She was starting to miss the scavenger hunt on the island at this point. At least those were just letters.
8. Azalea Town: There's an old man who looks so much like a pokemon that he can just...blend in with him. It's kind of like those people that start to look like their dogs? Alex is pretty sure she saw a comic like that once....or maybe it was the other way around. ANYWAY. Grampa Slowpoke. Now that really couldn't be his real name, was a bit of hard one to find as he was apparently being kept hidden by the town as well as the massive amounts of slowpokes. Luckily Alex managed to find him when the group reduced to wander slowly off somewhere and she had less slowpokes to poke through. She got out of there pretty quick though. Didn't want to risk the town getting mad at her.
9. Olivine City: The guy in this place was called, the Inky Sailor. Causing Alex to wonder if maybe everyone just picked their names at some point in their life because REALLY? She located him while he was out on the docks and ended up hearing some pretty crazy stories. So, totally worth it, even with the, oh right I'm by docks, that always goes well for me feeling she tends to get around them. Still the stories were pretty great.
10. Cianwood City: Guess who didn't have to take the ferry! This teen! Why yes she is happy about that. What she was less happy about was that The Swell Shell Fella liked to wander A LOT. She FINALLY found him, guess what, collecting more shells. Yes we're all amazed as well. On the plus side she actually had a pretty interesting conversation with a guy who came to an island and decided. Yeah, I'll stay here forever. It might have struck a chord because Alex MIGHT have tried to discretely ask if he was okay and wasn't trapped there in anyway. Apparently no however, he was interested in hearing about her island back home which she ended up talking about due to that line of conversation.
11. Saffron City: Okay she takes it all back. This guy is the weirdest. Or maybe just the creepiest. She didn't even know Mimes were still a thing? Are they still a thing? Has no one told this guy that Mimes are not a thing anymore? Like the pokemon Mr. Mime is a thing, but ....ugh. Anyway Jingles the Mime (she's pretty sure someone could make a horror movie with that name) was ....well she found him. She kinda wishes she hadn't. But hey a sticker is a sticker and also wow look at the time...oh god he's doing the box again. Escape!
12. Lavender Town: Possibly the closest thing to a witch she's going to find, Black Cat Mary is.....interesting? Yeah, that's ....a word for it. She managed to find the odd woman and the people around town seemed to have enough gossip about her. The town itself kinda put Alex on edge what with the ties to the supernatural and the radio tower. She ended up having a long talk with Mary about the radio tower, trying to figure out if there was any sort of link to the radio tower and ghosts. However there didn't seem to be one, and all she came away from was that ghosts might have been doing some of what Mary was apparently blamed for.
13. Vermillion City: A guy who can conduct electricity. She has to admit that was pretty cool. She found him by the seashore after some tips from the locals and got to see his act. The Conductor sounds a bit like a superhero, or super villain name or a train conductor. One of those three. But he seems decent so hopefully he won't become the second one. It made her wonder about any other people who might have these powers. Alex is pretty sure there are comics that start off like this.
14. Pewter City: The store was a bit hard to find but inside. Taxidermy Teddy. She takes back everything about the last guys name sounding like a super villain. Okay he sounded like a super villain but a less creepy one. At least none of them were made from real pokemon. Or so he said.... Still some of them were pretty cool. Though she had to stop her ghost pokemon from trying to use them to terrify the other people there. She tried at least. An attempt was made.

PROOFS:
Blitz was very disappointed (and grouchy) to find out the rumours were true and he could not, in fact, shock this man. Oh, he tried. He tried so very hard. But it was just a no go.
Armin ended up taking a picture of the whole situation, and sharing it with Shiro here.
2. Black Cat Mary from Lavender Town - Like the Conductor, Black Cat Mary wasn’t that difficult to find, owing to how loud and present she is. Armin ran into her holding a very spirited speech about the evils of radio in front of the tower. Unlike everybody else though, Armin made the mistake of making eye contact with her and was promptly snatched up and was forced to spend the next three hours listening to her rant and rave about the radio tower without being able to get a word in himself. She forced several (obviously home-made) fliers into his pockets and made him donate to her ‘SAVE THE TOWER’ fund.
In the end, the only way Armin was able to make an escape was by directing her attention to a pair of clueless looking tourists.
He’s sorry, tourists.
He’s so very sorry.
3. Jingels the Mime from Saffron City - Finding Jingles the Mime wasn’t very hard. The hard part was convincing people that, no, he really wanted to find him. Yes, really. Yes, he knows he is a bit odd, but he really needs to find him.
Eventually, he got the right directions though, found Jingles and… immediately understood why everybody looked at him like he was crazy.
And somehow the sight of him reminded him of memories he long tried to bury.
Armin decided to get out of there before he could be spotted by Jingles.
4. Ryan the Ninja from Fuschia City - Armin found the little ninja boy by accident rather than design. He travelled to Fuchsia city to leave his Incineroar Magellan with one of the dojos so the big ol’ fire-cat could be tutored in various fighting moves. And while he was chatting with one of the dojo owners, trying to hash things out, lo and behold, a mighty ninja shows up!
Or well, a little boy pretending to be a ninja.
Magellan, living up to the Incineroar’s heel persona, promptly pretended to be the bad guy, allowing the kid to attack and use his devastating ninja moves on him. They had some good fun until Ryan was called home for dinner.
Armin didn’t realise he already found this city’s ‘cryptid’ until he checked his booklet after leaving Magellan at the dojo. Easiest find ever.
5. The Herbal Hermit from Cerulean City - True to its name, the Herbal Hermit was difficult to find and Armin had plenty of problems there. He figured finding a stationary store couldn't be that difficult and that, with enough asking around, he would be able to find it within an afternoon.
Not so much.
It took him three days of combing through the city, marking areas he had already visited on a map. Asking around ended up not being all that useful either, with most people not being familiar with the store at all, and the few who were mostly knowing it from hearsay and sending him all over town. On the third day, Armin finally got lucky after asking an elderly man. True, it took over 45 minutes of listening to him meander through six different stories and a lot of reminding him of what he had asked him, but finally, Armin did obtain his much-needed directions. And with them in hand, he finally found the store. And promptly bought himself some relaxing herbal tea cause he needed it.
6. The Sleeping Man from Viridian City - Farida the Totodile was the one who actually found the Sleeping Man. And very helpfully woke him up before Armin could even get any coffee. As a result, Armin was treated to a grouchy lecture about the lack of manners in young girls these days (but I am not a girl though…), how this is a poor way to start off a Pokemon journey (but I have been training them for two years now…) and how to catch pokemon (but I already own several…)
7. The Music Man from Pallet Town - The Music man was the easiest to find out of all of them. Armin only needed to ask two people, before he found someone who knew exactly who he was talking about (it is a tiny town, after all) and took him right to the Music Man’s door. Armin actually ended up spending way more time than he intended at his house, absolutely amazed by his music boxes. He even got the Music Man to show him some of his in-progress works and explain things about how he makes them and how they worked to him.
In the end, Armin was so impressed, he ended up buying one of the boxes to add to his collection of ‘really cool stuff he encountered during his time here’. He also ended up telling Kazuki about this encounter.
9. The Inky Sailor from Vermillion city - The Inky Sailor was another one of those hard to find folks. Though in this case, the amazing sea tales were more than worth it. When Armin started asking around if anyone knew where he might find the Sailor, he ended up getting information on a lot of bars. Seems like this guy has never found a bar he didn't like. Of course, luck wasn't on his side, and he came up empty-handed. Still, most of the people he spoke to agreed that the Inky Sailor usually spent some time in a bar called 'The Rusty Dhelmise' on Tuesdays, so Armin did the logical thing and waited until Tuesday then, very determinedly waited outside the bar until the Sailor showed up.
At least the ocean stories were really cool.
10. Oaky Brown from Blackthorn City - From the start, Oaky Brown was the one person on the list Armin felt most apprehensive about finding. She sounded like a proper recluse, and how was he going to find one old lady in the giant forests around Blackthorn City? Sure, she came into town sometimes, but who even knew when that would happen.
Thankfully, Armin has a friend. A really amazing friend who can read forest tracks better than anyone. Which is a way to say Armin and Sasha teamed up to find Oaky Brown in this still in progress log.
11. Grampa Slowpoke from Azalea Town - Grampa Slowpoke was one of those people on Nephelis' list, Armin really wanted to try and find. How couldn't he! Slowpoke are a Water-type after all, and if there is one thing Armin likes, it is Water-types. Plus, having been raised by just his grandfather, Armin has to admit he has a bit of a soft spot for old people.
And thankfully, all those manners his grandfather had been so insistent on raising him with ended up helping out here. With his politeness and unintimidating looks, Armin managed to pass a very stern inspection by the townfolk, before he was finally pointed in the direction of a herd of Slowpoke. And apparently one old man among them. Offering him some of that herbal tea he had bought back in Celadon City, Armin ended up spending a pretty pleasant afternoon with Grampa Slowpoke learning a lot of new things about Slowpokes and their evolutions.
Maybe the real treasure was the knowledge we learned along the way.
12. Mom from New Bark Town - When Armin had first read the list of people he ought to find, Mom stood out, mainly because he immediately recognised who the description applied to. Knowing exactly where and how to find her, Armin put priority on finding as many of the other people first. After all, who knows how long it might take to find those!
Once he had gotten those out of the way though, it was time to visit ol’ mom. And wait. A lot. Does this woman ever leave the house? It actually also gave Armin an interesting opportunity to observe her house. How did new people arrive there first? Did someone bring them there, while mom then waited for them to wake up? Or did they just appear there, in that bedroom, with mom just happily accepting the situation? Who was this woman who had people appear in her spare bedroom all the time, sometimes people even older than her, and gave them a lunch package and sent them on their way? Didn’t she question the nature of this? Was mom in on everything? Was mom even human?
In the end, Armin had to take a quick trip to Cherrygrove City to buy a bouquet of flowers and he pretended to be a delivery man to catch a glimpse of Mom.
Oh well, those flowers were probably a fair repayment of the lunch and backpack she had handed him when he had first arrived here.

Current Location: Tent on route 29
Number of "Cryptids" Found: 8
Reward(s) Claimed: A pair of Choice Specs and her lost dolls head (Casey: it can totally fit in her pocket)
PROOFS:
1. Goldenrod City: The lady was hard to find, until Newt started to notice the cats. Then, following the mewoths, she sneakily followed them up to the Gold Woman, who she then had to apologize for scaring. Newt didn't like her that much and she wouldn't say why she was dressed up in gold. Newt asked her if she got banned from the game corner for cheating or for wearing too much gold and the conversation kind of died off there. Still a sticker is a sticker and Newt walked away after that.
2. Ecruteak City: The Epic Bottle Flip Kid, Newt found after asking around. She found him annoying but the trick with the bottles was pretty neat. She didn't stay long though. Just long enough to put down a sticker after listening to him talk for a bit. She didn't know you could talk about bottles that much. Is this really what people in the past did for fun? She'll take playing in the ventilation shafts over that.
3. Mahogany Town: Found on the ice paths. It took Newt a while to find Frostine mostly because she got distracted by all the ice. Never really having experienced it before. Luckily Ripley was there to make sure she didn't fall to her death. And finding Frostine she talked to the older girl for a bit. Newt really wants a Charmander now. They sound awesome. Also apparently they can evolve into flying dragons. She does need a flying pokemon.....
4. Blackthorn City: It took Newt longer to locate Oakie Brown as the old lady apparently really liked to live alone. However after some searching and help by a local (pokemon who also liked to explore) Newt managed to find her. Being from the future, or at least the future to most people, she wasn't sure what the lady meant when she talked about living off the land. She's also sure the lady didn't believe her when she said she came from a place where you couldn't live off the land because there was nothing but rocks. However surviving is something Newt has a great interest in so when the old lady gave tips about things like that she was very interested in hearing more.
5. Azalea Town: Newt is good at hiding and sneaking so she managed to get past the townsfolk that seemed to be hiding the old man named Grampa Slowpoke. Finding him in the group of Slowpoke she found was the harder part. However she did. Even if she had a few false alarms and had to keep trying to put the sticker on. Eventually it stuck though and she left after that. He was kind of creepy.
6. Violet City: Now Hermione had warned her about the Monk. That he was a jerk who wouldn't let you leave without fighting him. That might not have been her exact wording but it was what Newt took away. Hermione had also described him to her so she knew who to look for. So Newt, making sure she had all her pokemon in their balls, snuck into the temple. Given that she's quite good at hiding, even without ventilation shafts to use, Newt managed to sneak a peak at the Monk and then get out before he spotted her.
7. Cherrygrove City: She was a bit wary that this kid would be as annoying as the last but Skippy was alright. His Surskit almost got the two into a pokemon battle due to the fact that it looked like a facehugger. So the rock finding lesson was cut short as Newt got away from that thing she wasn't allowed to attack with fire, as quickly as possible. At least she got a sticker out of it.
8. Olivine City: A weird guy with tattoos shouldn't be that hard to find. Newt didn't realize how many sailors had tattoos when she said this though. The Inky Sailor took a while to track down. Luckily she was used to spending time with marines at this point so sailors weren't as intimidating as they might have been. She liked his stories about the places he'd been, even if some of them sounded a bit silly.

Current Location: An inn, in Pewter City
Number of "Cryptids" Found: 13
Reward(s) Claimed: A Wide Lens and Region map!
PROOFS:
Date: June 10th
Person: Oakie Brown
Field Notes: It took me a few days to track down this woman. Also a lot of walking around the mountains. Luckily I'm used to looking for strange creatures in nature. They're usually actual creatures though and not people.
Unless you count that one timeAnyway, I located the woman named Oakie Brown. She was a bit weird, not Grunkle McGucket pre-memory levels of living alone weird, more like I think Stan could have sold her a tinfoil hat sort of weird. She was pretty cool though. We talked about adventures, she tried to sell me on the whole living with nature thing. I'm not totally sold that it'll solve all my problems but I did get some good camping tips. I'll probably look her up, if I can find her again, the next time I come into town. Hopefully the rest of the people are this interesting.2. -Mahogany Town-
Date: June 12th
Person: Frostine
Field Notes: What is it with teenage girls and being connected to ice? Anyway I had to travel around the Ice path for a bit but I managed to find her. I actually got almost got stuck on some slippery ice when she came by. Note to self, invest in escape rope. But she was pretty chill about it. Site note: How are teenagers just so good at that? Is that just something that happens when you get older or just to some of them? We talked pokemon for a bit, before she helped me back down to the safer paths.
Note to self, do not let Mabel read this if she does come back. I'm still not sure why she likes ice so much but I've learnt better then to ask girls stuff like that.3. -Ecruteak City-
Date: June 15
Person: EPIC BOTTLE FLIP KID (Caps lock not mine)
Field Notes: Okay seriously this kid is good at flipping bottles. I'm still not really sure why that warranted the all caps but hey at least he knows what he's good at. Not that hard to find if you ask around. The hardest part was trying to leave when he wanted to keep showing off his 'skills'. Also he really doesn't like it if you try to do the math to calculate how his tricks work. Luckily I escaped when he had to go home for supper.
4. -Goldenrod City-
Date: June 19
Person: The Gold Woman
Field Notes: Sadly, not a woman made out of gold and come to life. It took me a while to find her until I realized following the Meowths was a good idea.
Mabel probably would have thought of that the first day here. But I tracked her down, found her by the cats and also she was really shiny because while not made of gold she wore enough gold. Kinda reminded of Stan as she's banned from the game corner and I'm pretty sure I know why. Kept that to myself. I definitely see why this is a scavenger hunt though. These people are in random places. Maybe looking for people will help me get better at hunting for monsters.5. -Azalea Town-
Date: July 2
Person: Grampa Slowpoke
Field Notes: It took me a lot longer to find one old guy then I thought it would. Apparently all the people looking for him has the made the locals even more protective of this guy then normal. Luckily I was able to find a lead and I located the man. He's a bit...odd. I mean aside from the whole looks like a slowpoke thing. Apparently he can really tell what they're talking about. I'd have loved to stay and talk more but it felt like the whole town was watching me and I really don't want to get banned from a town
again. So I cut my questions short.6. -Violet City-
Date: July 4
Person: The Monk
Field Notes: Okay wow and I thought finding this guy would be the hard part. Not having to fight a battle to get him to let me leave! And I was listening to him for like a super long time too because it was pretty interesting. I even took some notes. But ....I don't think this guy is human because he just wouldn't stop. AT ALL. I had to battle him. ....er did not win, but at least I managed to get out. Note to self, if going back to Bell Tower, try to figure out if this guy is a robot.
7. -Cherrygrove City-
Date: July 13
Person: Skippy
Field Notes: I managed to find the kid pretty quickly after I got a tip as to where he hung out by the water. I have to admit I like him more then the bottle flip kid. Maybe because we started talking about what makes the best sort of stone to through to get the most skips. Throwing stuff is just math after all, so you find the right rock and then it's all angles. The hard part is finding the rock and we spent an afternoon looking for some. So yeah, not as annoying as I thought he'd be after that bottle flip kid.
8. -New Bark Town-
Date: July 16
Person: "Mom"
Field Notes: Mabel's back so really this was less of a visit and more of a running into town, locating "Mom" , making sure the sticker stayed put and running back. Luckily she's one of, if not the easiest to locate on the list since she never leaves her house....I wonder if people bring her food? Well anyway Mabel's here so I have to go catch up with her Maybe I'll find some more people for the scavenger hunt while we're travelling in Kanto. If not, well I have a lot and Mabel getting her pokemon back is more important then a scavenger hunt. She'd do the same for me.
9. -Pallet Town-
Date: July ?? (Ink is smudged and unreadable)
Person: Music Man
Field Notes: So not really the hardest to find which was a nice break. At first I thought it seemed a little too easy. A guy in a music store. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any coded messages in his music boxes and luckily I was able to get out before he spotted me trying to open one to see if that was true. I might have been over thinking it. Maybe he is just a normal guy who makes music boxes. ...Or maybe the music can control things, oh my gosh I didn't even think of that! Argh, I wonder if it's too late to go back and check.
10. -Viridian City-
Date: July ?? (Ink is smudged and unreadable)
Person: The Sleeping Man
Field Notes: I think an old man is blocking the road to extort coffee and attention from people. Note to self. Never tell Stan about this idea. Oh who am I kidding, he's probably already done something like this. Anyway. Got the guy a coffee so he'd move, then had to stand and watch him catch a ratatta. I'm not really sure why? Managed to sneak away while he was doing that.
11. -Pewter City-
Date: July 30
Person: Taxidermy Teddy
Field Notes: Is it weirder that I think it's strange all of the pokemon are fake, or that all of the stuffed pokemon are fake? And like made out of fake stuff, not Grunkle Stan's fake monster, fake. I have to agree with Mabel though. You could make some pretty cool hybrids if you wanted to.
12. -Lavender City-
Date: Aug ?? (Ink is smudged and unreadable)
Person: Black Cat Mary
Field Notes: Does this place even have black cats? Maybe there's a pokemon variation. Or people dye their fur. Either way this lady got that name for the same sort of reason she'd have gotten it back home. Okay maybe not the exact same reasons. I managed to find her. She's....very vocal about her dislike of the radio tower they have here. I'm not sure why? Either way she's got a reputation for having supernatural powers which seemed exciting. But I didn't see her do anything. Just sat through a lecture on the evils of radio towers.
13. -Olivine City-
Date: Aug 20
Person: The Inky Sailor
Fields Notes: We were here for the contest and I had some free time while Mabel was getting ready. Ironically didn't find him till after the contest was over. The guy has some great stories but I'm not sure how believable they are. Wrote them down anyway and put a note next to them in my journal. After all lots of stories sound too weird to be true but then end up real.

2. Jingles the Mime in Saffron - On July 11th, after his shift at the Gym, Cecil decided to go to Saffron for breakfast. Among the Pokémon accompanying him was his beloved Kommo-o, Luka. Let's just say he was rather surprised when she tried to punch some innocent Mr.Mime minding its own business, and even more surprised when the Mr.Mime in question turned out to be human. But hey, can't say no to an extra sticker.
3. Ryan the Ninja in Fuchsia - On August 23th, Cecil started to take the whole thing seriously and spent the whole morning looking for Ryan. He interrupted his search to mediate a fight between two Pokémon, ended up catching them both... and got hit in the face by paper shuriken while he was distracted by their pokéballs. Thanks, Ryan.
4. Black Cat Mary in Lavender - On August 24th, a slightly hungover Cecil traveled to Lavender, where he met a Mimikyu who wished to help Mary curse some Radio Tower employees. In exchange for his assistance in inflicting undescribable horrors upon hapless interns, the ghost led him right to the lady in question.
5. The Conductor in Vermillion - On August 27th, Cecil found his target at the center of a small crowd of tourists, showing off his talent to their cheers and applause. When they left, he stayed a little longer to chat with the man about the weather, Electric-types and the state of today's youths. children these days sure have it easy...
6. Taxidermy Teddy in Pewter - On August 28th, Cecil dragged himself to Pewter after a few hours of sleep. Despite the dark circles under his eyes and the fact that he almost collapsed in front of the man, he managed to convince the taxidermist he'd be delighted to see his collection... right until he saw the numerous posed faux-Caterpies. At that point, he politely excused himself and wished Teddy good luck in finding never-ending inspiration.
7. The Sleeping Man in Viridian - On August 29th, at dawn, Cecil warped himself all the way to Viridian the moment his shift at the Gym was over. He drifted aimlessly through the town until he found who he was looking for, apparently on his way to his favorite napping spot. As Cecil was on his fourth coffee of the day at the time and seriously considering injecting directly it in his veins, they found common ground quickly.
8. Music Man in Pallet - On August 29th, after a long flight, Cecil descended upon Pallet Town and asked the first person he met where this Music Man could be found. It took a few tries for him to get a proper answer (seriously, hasn't anyone here seen a sleep-deprived person before), but he managed to visit the man during the early afternoon. Before leaving, he purchased a music box, paying three times its value as an apology for daring to visit in such a state.

2. Music Man: The twins sent out for the Kanto Region after reuniting and upon reaching Pallet Town they sought out the Music Man to get his sticker! While Dipper took his time trying to figure out what mystery there had to be to the shop, Mabel spent her time turning on every single music box she could get her hands on. All at the same time.
3. The Sleeping Man: Mabel was totally prepared to put her sneak abilities to the test with this guy but in the end the twins had to buy him a coffee and deal with his need for a Rattata. She thought it was kind of hilarious, honestly, but Dipper didn't seem all that amused.
4. Taxidermy Teddy: aka THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! Mabel was totally in love with Teddy's work and even tried to encourage him to make some crazy hybrids since he was so good at it! (Though she's pretty sure he wasn't keen on that idea.) +Network Post
5. Black Cat Mary: A kind of crazy lady that Mabel is convinced is actually a witch or something of that nature. Needless to say Mabel was fascinated by her stories and totally in agreement with her that the radio tower has GOT TO GO!! (Okay so she was really just saying that to rile the old lady up some more and get her ranting more. If Grunkle Stan was here she would totally play matchmaker with them.) The twins entertained her ranting though and scored a sticker from her in the process!
6. The Inky Sailor: Mabel ended up finding the Inky Sailor on her own, since she had been busy with the contest and Dipper was doing his own thing while they were in Olivine, and she may have come out of it with a crush on the manly dude covered in tattoos. She spent a solid hour listening to his stories with her Pokemon and soaking up everything he had to say, even if most of it was probably just tall tales, gushing over his tattoos at the end of it because hello! It's totally awesome!

2. Skippy: When she reached Cherrygrove, Chise decided to actually seek out the next person on the Scavenger Hunt which led her to lake on the far side of the city. She ended up spending quite a bit of time with the young boy and while she never did master the art of skipping stones, she did have a pretty nice afternoon.
And got some nice polished rocks from him as a gift.
3. The Monk: Chise had been avoiding battle with other trainers as much as possible since her arrival but it was inevitable that it would happen eventually. The Monk in Violet City just wouldn't stop talking and she had to eventually challenge him which seemed to do the trick--
she and her Pokemon weren't ready for this particular challenge though.
While Wendy and Belladonna tried their best, Chise and her team lost the battle but hey, at least the Monk was kind enough to give her a sticker before she trudged back to the Pokemon center to heal up right?
4. The Inky Sailor: While visiting Olivine to see the contest in action, Chise ended up seeking the individual listed on the Scavenger Hunt for the city and got a lot more than she bargained for. His stories were entertaining but very..very over the top and Chise, not wanting to be rude, sat through a lot of them before her Pokemon finally managed to get her to bow out of the conversation--after getting a sticker from him of course.
5. EPIC BOTTLE FLIP KID: Chise..really has no idea what to think about this kid. He was easy enough to find just a bit strange, especially since she had no idea what the bottle flipping meme was until she met him. His skill was extremely impressive though and he found a good audience in her which made getting a sticker from him easy in the end. She just has to deal with seeing him around all the time now that she's staying in the city for the entirety of September...

2. Newt spent about a week or so in Cherrygrove, and kept his eyes peeled whenever he wasn't at work for Skippy. It turns out he didn't need to- the kid found him, instead! Skippy brought his Surskit into the Cherrygrove Pokemon Center after the poor bug had fainted in a battle with a territorial Spearow. Newt, as a Pokemon center assistant, healed up the Surskit and offered to help the kid teach the Spearow a lesson. Before long, Newt's Tynamo had sent the Spearow packing, and the boy and his bug were allowed to skip stones in peace!
3. Newt had gone in search of the Sprout Tower to train up his newly hatched baby Pokemon. His Gible, Slattern, had gotten bored torching Bellsprout after Bellsprout, and went in search of a new challenge- or better yet, trouble. And he got it, too- when he bit the leg of the wrong Monk, his punishment was doled out in the form of an Aipom that knows Ice Punch. Slattern was sent scurrying back to his trainer, chastized. And Newt proceeded to get a 20-minute lecture. Great.
4: The Gold Woman wasn't too difficult to find, once Princess the Glameow got to know the local Meowth population. To be honest, Princess only cared because she wanted a bit of the gold for herself. Unfortunately, Newt caught her coming back to the hotel room with a golden necklace in her mouth, and refused to let her keep it. Look, the last thing he needs is to get arrested for theft because his cat stole something. Princess reluctantly lead Newt back to the Golden Woman, and the necklace was successfully returned.
5: Oh, you know Newt was fucking psyched about the Epic Bottle Flip Kid. He spent two hours with this dude trying to master the art of bottleflipping. Newt is now able to successfully pull it off maybe one out of every 30 attempts. Who cares if it's an old meme to everyone else- the first Kaiju attack happened years before bottleflipping became a meme. Memes have been scarce for Newt for many years. Let him have this.
6: It didn't even occur to Newt that he'd met the Inky Sailor until after the fact. The two ran into each other at a bar and wound up talking forever about their tattoos. By the end of it, Newt had heard a lot of tall tales about monstrous Pokemon in the deep ocean, and the Sailor had gotten a crash course on just about every Kaiju Newt had every studied.

2. Oakie Brown in Blackthorn - A side-trip during the Blackthorn Gym challenge
3. The Gold Woman in Goldenrod - Krieg goes to Goldenrod every week to dumpster dive - he's gotta make sure his beloved Muk gets enough to eat! An example of this devotion can be seen in his July open log. Since he's there so often he'd definitely track down the gold woman.
4. The Inky Sailor in Olivine - You gotta pass thru Olivine to get to the Sevii Islands, which is where Krieg spent pretty much the whole second half of the summer. Whoops. At least he remembered the scavenger hunt long enough to find the guy, anyway.
And then promptly forget about it for the rest of the summer, OH WELL.
NOTE: I realize the photograph is in the tier below the one Krieg reached, but out of all the possible prizes, the photo is the one he would want the most (and I just want this poor man to be happy :c). Pocket-sized items from home are basically just like. Ammo and grenades. Which are useless to him here and also hold no sentimental value. If that's not cool I'll think of something else that will work!

2. Skippy at Cherrygrove City: Found the kid skipping stones along the water. Pointy played with the Surskit for a while. Good kid, even if I couldn't tell the difference between the good stones to throw and the bad ones.
3. "Mom" at New Bark Town: Spent a while peering into the windows. Felt kinda creepy. Left after seeing "Mom" start to approach the windows, probably to tell me to leave.
4. The Music Man at Pallet Town: Bought a music box from the old man. Pointy seems to like listening to it when we're out. He didn't like the Patrat much, though. Kept roaring at it. Ended up leaving early.
5. The Sleeping Man at Viridian City: Got into a little bit of an argument with the guy for blocking the way out of Viridian when I wanted to go train. Didn't even realise he was worth a sticker at first. He kept yelling about coffee, so I left to get him some and he made me watch him catch a Rattata. At least he got out of my way after that.

2. The Gold Woman | Goldenrod City: Sasha offered to help Alex find the Gold Woman, but it was Sasha's Meowth Tuna who really found that person. Seems like Tuna has an eye for the shiny and wandered off behind the Woman, much to Sasha's and Alex's chagrin.
Sasha doesn't know much about fashion, but she quietly thinks that entire ensemble is tacky. Do the Jennies arrest people for fashion crimes? (Log unfinished.)
3. EPIC BOTTLE FLIP KID | Ecruteak City: Sasha doesn't have the faintest idea of what a "meme" is, but she thinks this kid's trick is so cool. She spent a fair amount of time watching him with rapt attention (probably far too long, to be honest) and went away to go flip some bottles on her own. Legend says she's still flipping bottles to this day.
4. Skippy | Cherrygrove City: After giving up flipping bottles for a while, Sasha found a guy who flips stones across the lake. It's a familiar sight to her, something she would do back home across the lakes and creeks in the forest. She challenged him to a contest to see who was more awesome at it, but he pretty much ignored her in his search for the perfect stone.
Whatever, dude. She still got her sticker.
5. "Mom" | New Bark Town: Sasha is probably the only VR resident who still visits this lady after leaving home even without a scavenger hunt, but why wouldn't she? A nap and food and free Pokemon healing? What a deal! So going back there to say hello with ulterior motives earned Sasha a sticker and Mom was none the wiser.

Because let's break Bert's heart why notPROOFS:
After a lot of apologies and an explanation of the situation, she gave him a few pointers and advice in tracking down that unruly Hakamo-o, and gave him a lot to think about in regards to it.
He hasn't seen her since that fateful encounter.
2. Skippy in Cherrygrove City was the second person he spotted, and that had only been because he needed to kill some time while he waited for a much-needed batch of treats that his Arcanine loved so much from the very first time he passed through nearly two years ago.
He tried to skip a few rocks himself, but there was no way Bertolt could ever match this kid - his highest skip was three. Three. And Skippy? There's no contest there.
3. Bertolt's third mark was The Gold Woman in Goldenrod. He didn't get a very good look at her in the dark, but the less-traveled streets were lit up just enough for him to catch a glimpse of someone very shiny. It wasn't his Aggron either - he checked, and the big lug was right at his heels just like the Meowth trailing after the strange woman.
Spooky.
4. The Inky Sailor in Olivine caught Bertolt's attention with - you guessed it - those glorious tattoos. He bumped into him after leaving the contest grounds to get some fresh air, one thing lead to another, and suddenly Bertolt was taken by the sailor's stories of a gigantic tentacled Pokemon that could sink ships three times bigger than his Tyrantrum.
He's heard about a great dragon-like creature that could eat planes from Ford, but this was something new and something to ask him about at some point.
5. Saffron was a terrible trip. While Jean was taking care of some business around Lavender Town, Bertolt opted to stay in Saffron to get his bearings and do a little clothes shopping after his great disappearing act. There weren't any crazy expectations beyond the norm - a couple shirts, hunt down some pants that wouldn't look like capris, and maybe get something to eat in the meantime.
Jingles the Mime wasn't something he expected, and frankly Bertolt wishes he could forget him. There was something eerie about the way he acted, but Bertolt wasn't going to stick around long to find out what it was.
6. Baking is great. There's so many recipes to try and modify, but with modifications comes a hunt for harder to find ingredients.
As luck would have it, he heard rumors about a place in Celadon City that may have had just what he was looking for (or the ability to point him in the right direction.) It had taken two days to find someone who knew what he was talking about and while it took some effort, they brought him to The Herbal Hermit after railing him with questions. Unfortunately while the shop didn't have exactly what he was looking for, they did give him some alternatives to try in the next batch of treats he made for Pokemon and some tea packets (after a harmless inquiry about the best remedy for a cold, seeing as summer was almost over.)
The treats turned out great, by the way.

2.The Inky Sailor - Magnus was in Olivine after the contests and, frankly, bored. Challenging the gym was too distant a goal with his Pokémon at such low levels; he needed something immediate. Tracking down and chatting with one random guy was pretty basic, but he'd take it. The hunt itself was a whole lot of poking around docks and dive bars, trying to sound like he knew more about sailing than he actually does (there was a lot of ahoy-ing, it was very awkward). Magnus eventually found the old sailor entirely by accident, in a tiny beachside Mart while getting some fishing bait, like spotting Bigfoot at a Walmart at 3am. They had a brief chat that escalated into swapping stories about giant monsters and the arm-wrestling of such, as you do.

2. Ecruteak City | EPIC BOTTLE FLIP KID | You ever just sit down to have a nice meal at your favorite local hole-in-the-wall ramen restaurant when some rowdy teenager busts in, buys every single water bottle in the cooler, and starts throwing them around the store? You ever have to stop your meal in the middle of having it so you can gently but firmly escort that kid outside because he's disturbing the other patrons with his loud shouts of 'GIT GUD' and 'LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE'? What a time we live in. Kids these days. Eesh.
3. Goldenrod City | The Gold Woman | Sometimes what you thinks a neat out-of-the-way statue of a woman sitting on a bench that you spend ten minutes sketching is actually very much not a statue and very much smacks you for rudely not asking first.
4. Azalea Town | Grampa Slowpoke | This is one of the cryptids that Ford actually sought out entirely on purpose. Having heard the rumor that Grampa can understand Slowpoke via their tail movements, he was looking for any insight whatsoever on deciphering Pokémon language that might help him decode Elgyem and Beheeyem's light code. He didn't get much of that, but he did get a lot of esoteric and slightly rambly information about the daily lives of each individual nearby Slowpoke so it kind of evened out. It was like talking to a senile David Attenborough.
5. Vermillion City | The Conductor | Hey, so, guess who has ongoing issues with electricity? This guy! The Conductor was basically Ford's Jingles the Mime: incredibly impressive in his mastery of his craft but also deeply unsettling for very personal reasons. They did manage to bond over the Conductor's sideshow past though once his demonstration was done and they got to talking. Ford used to frequent similar sideshows all the time as a kid and always had a soft spot for them, so they wound up swapping stories for a while and nobody mentioned getting electrocued again and it was very nice.
6. Celadon City | The Herbal Hermit | What amounts to a museum dedicated to Grass types with a huge catalog of unique and unusual specimens for viewing and sketching? Sign Ford the fuck up. The owner was at first mostly pleased that he wasn't just looking for that dank Persim zest (a mix-up that probably happens quite a lot) and then genuinely delighted that he was so interested in her collection, and he wound up spending hours there sketching and taking pictures of what he didn't get drawings of.
You'll notice that despite being in Saffron currently he didn't find Jingles the Mime and that's because nobody should have to find Jingles the Mime. Hasn't Stanford Pines suffered enough?
