Hello, everyone! Welcome to April. Spring is well under way, and with spring comes change. We have a very important announcement about Victory Road’s future.

Victory Road (and its previous iteration, Route 29), has been around for more than a decade. That’s more than ten years! We owe it all to our players for sticking with us throughout all these years, exploring what the Pokémon world has to offer.

As you know, we have previously made gameplay decisions that differ from the main Pokémon games. For example, recently we ruled that we would not be implementing Terastallizing as a gameplay mechanic in Victory Road. However, most of these changes have been additive to our current gameplay, or simply staying the course. Today, we’ll be making some bigger, well-needed adjustments that will affect all players, past, present, and future.

As of today, April 1st, all Pokémon will now be pocket sized.

Yes, you read that right. We’re sick and tired of Pokémon not adhering to the actual property title. Enough is enough–you’ve lied to us too many times, Gamefreak, for not keeping in the spirit of true pocket monsters. I mean, have you even seen the heights and weights of some of these Pokémon?

Look at its smug expression. Did you know Tropius is 6’07” tall and 100 kg in weight? How can you call THIS a “pocket monster”?!?!?!?! Just how big are your darn pockets, anyways?

The anime isn’t exempt from these problems, either. Look at this screenshot of Ash holding a Beedrill.

According to the in-game Pokédex, Beedrill is 29.5 kg, or 65 pounds. Do you sincerely expect us to believe that a ten year old can lift a sixty pound bug without breaking a sweat? Get real. This sort of inconsistency makes it IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy Pokémon as a franchise!

We’re done trying to wrangle unrealistic expectations for pocket monsters. From now on, we are taking over control completely and making all Pokémon as they were always meant to be–tiny pocket creatures. We understand that this will be a bit of an adjustment, but we are sick and tired of living this lie.

Kind regards,
The Mods
(now also pocket-sized for your convenience)

And for those who haven't realised yet -- As a silly little April Fool's event, today, and today only, all pokemon will be tiny pocket-sized creatures. They will return to their normal sizes again tomorrow. Any poke-world natives will not notice the change at all, nor will they comment on it tomorrow, except the Legendary Seekers who will notice and will continue to speak of the day Pokemon Were Tiny (Probably Because Aliens).

Have tiny, pocket-sized fun as prom draws ever closer.
